Nintendo Video coming to 3DS tomorrow
Video streaming app coming to Europe
Starting on July 13, European Nintendo 3DS owners can download the Nintendo Video application from the eShop.

This program will give users access to both 2D and 3D videos via SpotPass, downloading video automatically when the 3DS is close to a wireless connection. Already announced as content will be 3D episodes of Disney Australia's Oscar's Oasis, 3D Magic Tricks from studio D4D, and a cartoon based on the French books, Angelo.

No word yet on when, if ever, a similar application will be made available for North American 3DS units.

Nintendo Video videos are similar to VC titles. VC titles are just ROMs + Emulators . Nintendo Video videos are video files + video player. Now if only we could have the encryption key of the video files, we could decrypt them and replace them with own video files. Then we need to encrypt them back and put them to SD card.

If the files are encrypted with a console unique key, we need to get a way to extract this key first.

Here's hoping that happens, 'cause what Nintendo are sending us seems to be utter shite. Seriously, it's all crap. Why not truly classic cartoons with universal appeal, like Tom and Jerry?

Remember when Nintendo said something about recording videos in 3D? What happened to that?
Surely we will be able to replace the video files just like we're able to replace MPOs, though I expect some kind of time limit for video recording.

I see now that Nintendo have no intention of releasing a stand alone video player for the 3DS, if they did, they wouldn't be able to charge you for every single thing you watch on the thing.
