If you install HBC before the update then you will be fine and you can re-hack your wii.

Then MMM, switch IOS to 58 and load HBC installer from MMM.

    OR

Run bootmii from boot2 and use it to launch HBC installer from SD.

The lastest HBC is 8, not 7 you know. It just came out a week ago. I tried it on my friend's Wii and 7 did not work. Make sure you have the right version.

Wiibrew even reccomends you to update to 4.3U. I don't know why but they're the experts I guess. If you hav trouble using IOS 36 to install 249 then use 236. That's what I did.

    From Wiibrew:

WiiBrew recommends that you run the latest version of the HackMii Installer and then optionally update your Wii to 4.3 using Nintendo's official updater.

Only update using the official update procedure. Downgrading or installing patched updates is unsupported, dangerous, and may permanently brick your Wii.

So I guess I should get rid of WAN then by updating through the official process.

That doesn't recommend updating to 4.3. It's saying if you want to update to 4.3 (which is optional), it is recommended to run the latest HackMii installer first so HBC won't get deleted.

It is something in human nature that tells some of us "update must be done".
I still fell big pressure from inside to do it.
And yes, I know that update won't improve my wii experience at all.

But WAN is dangerous? Should I get rid of it? And whenever I load the SD card tab it says "all files are corrupted".

You don't need any game with the new HBC but brawl has the most codes possible.
