I remember seeing vids of people buying PS3 or Xbox 360 on day one and smashing them with a sledgehammer after they came out of the store. Entertaining for sure. It was just a statement against over-consumption or technology. I'm not sure this one applies, though. It just looks like the guy hated the game.

Yeah, the “look at this waste of resources”/“somebody could’ve played on it and enjoyed it” crowd doesn’t have a leg to stand on. It’s his money, he can do whatever he wants with it. I’m sure *someone* would enjoy it as a gift and treat it right, but you know what? You can’t stream that, or monetise that in any significant way. Nobody wants to watch that, unless you make the “random act of kindness” a big shabam of a show, which is way more involved than just smashing something to bits. He didn’t buy the Switch for you, so why are you even upset? People are always getting their panties in a bunch when YouTubers destroy their own property, but objectively speaking, it’s *their* property - you’re just envious. It’s not yours, nor does it feel pain - it’s just a bit of plastic, metal and silicon that someone bought and destroyed for views. It’s working, by the way - y’all clicked, so is it a waste? If it’s profitable in the long run then that sounds like an investment to me. It tricks monkey brains into pressing the play button and generating revenue, a fairly simple ploy. You make those videos happen by getting baited by them every single time - it’s not exactly a new phenomenon, kids.

actually, according to the title and the thumbnail, no one could have known what the video was about before clicking
That's what we call clickbait and I don't think anyone supports that, we simply fall into the trap...

I hate when people start sentences with “ackhtchually”, as if they’ve discovered some hidden truth nobody else is aware of. I also hate when they define popular, broadly understood terms to others as if they’re secret lingo that needs explaining. Don’t take this the wrong way, but it’s very patronising, and a bad habit. Ironic, considering I have to explain back to you why you’re wrong. The obliterated Switch is right there in the thumbnail. Dead giveaway, wouldn’t you say? Again, no offense, but… I think you’re the only person who *didn’t* know what the video was before clicking.

It’s in the lower left. The most easily recognisable part is the white dock since it sustained the least damage. Might be a resolution/size of monitor thing, but to me it’s pretty easy to make out.
