I know some of you already saw this or probably don't care. But I do, while the selection at the moment is Halloween themed and maybe probably either a bad selection or bad discount percentages, at least they started having them by now. Honestly I was wondering when but you know what, just throwing that out there, the news feed on Nintendo Switch might be bit primitive at the moment, but it sure is helpful to keep track of updates you care about. Though from previous experience on WII U and 3DS, i don't expect to see any discount over %50 which is disappointing but still okay depending on the game in question. :)

Perhaps when the online subscription comes, subscribers will get deeper discounts on certain games.
Perhaps the online service will be cheaper than current ones. $60 for a whole year, that the price of a game or even a controller. Not to mention we have to play internet every month! (Gaming is expensive)

They already announced pricing, I think it was around $20 or $30 for a whole year.

There is no "pre-order discount" They allow you to pre-purchase games on eshop, it works like any other platform, the game will download and midnight of release date will be available to play from the start. There is no discount for doing this as of yet that I know but other systems had pre order discounts.

Ah. I misread the title. My bad.

They also announced they will be starting it this year, but that got changed to delayed, no reason not to suspect it will change price.
They delayed us having to pay the subscription, I don't think that's any indicator of raising the subscription price. They probably aren't going to lower it after doing less than half of what the competition is asking, either.

NoA and NoE don't have meaningful discounts for 3DS/WiiU first party. Probably will hand out gold coins only themes for the N.O. service.

The Nintendo "Sales" are complete shite and I'm pretty sure, using the mobile app as a benchmark, their online service will be total gash as well. :(

elaborate, cause i would like to even begin to understand what you mean, sales seem fine so far, and online on mobile isn't paid for which is a diffrent story

First point, we already pay a Switch tax, comparing prices against other devices (PS4/XB1) Puyo Puyo Tetris is an example, then when there is a sale the best I've items discount is 30-40%.

When I look at sales on Xbox or PS4 the generally reduce by 50% as a maximum, the current Nintendo Haloween sale is a range of 10-20% discounts, from a brief glance, hence my comment.

Needing a mobile app to use an online service is abysmal, in my opinion, lack of standard functions (inviting friends to game/etc. or that was the case last time I tried to use it) is equally as poor.

Again, it's an opinion.

Snake pass is on sale for %50 off, but is true that nintendo sales aren't usually above %40, even with xbox live gold or playstation plus, sales without them are still least over %50 and even more with them. Perhaps nintendo will have better discounts for their online subscription services.

True :).

Although we have Mario Odyssey, MK8 & Zelda - which mitigates any sale prices, lol. Three essential games within 9 months of platform release is far better than XB/PS have done in 3+ years in my humble opinion. Nintendo FP IP>all.

I had the misunderstanding that you ment the switch and it's games were not selling well
but ya, the sale prices do kinda suck though they just introduced sales so meh, there decent on 3ds
and I decline to hold an opinion on there internet services until the full paid service comes along, I feel like there just in a trial period of making sure everything is set up and nice before they roll it out to us. which is kind of shown with how they delayed making us pay till 2018 instead of in fall

@K3Nv3, not directly. Mostly use bluetooth earbuds nowadays but when I do/did use IEMs I ran them through a USB C / Bluetooth DAC (FiiO BTR5, but there are newer and/or cheaper models available too)
  • K3Nv3 @ K3Nv3:
Yeah I just kinda miss old earbuds just dont know any with type c that have that decent bass
    +1
  • Sicklyboy @ Sicklyboy:
Consider one of the cheaper USB C to 3.5mm adapters, too. It is technically a DAC as well but less featured, less powerful, and less configurable than something like the FiiO but WAY cheaper and slimmer. https://www.amazon.com/Headphone-Adapter-JSAUX-Compatible-Samsung/dp/B07XYQ2ZKH That'll get you a lot closer to plain ol plug-in headphones
  • Sicklyboy @ Sicklyboy:
That paired with any normal IEMs. KZ ZSN Pro are the cheapies that I actually really liked lol
  • K3Nv3 @ K3Nv3:
Yeah these look cool little dip switches https://a.co/d/0HXRfVf

I could still always use my old android phone as a mp3 player but I get lost in the music and miss calls that way

Thanks for the like and then taking it away
  • SylverReZ @ SylverReZ:
It's been discontinued but you can find em second hand. It's the FiiO model K1.
  • Sicklyboy @ Sicklyboy:
@SylverReZ nice. I've been using my BTR5 pretty much daily, got it in late 2020. Mostly use it as a desktop DAC though and the battery has already swelled up in it once, so I had to replace it. Some day I gotta grab a proper desktop DAC that doesn't have a battery lol

  • SylverReZ @ SylverReZ:
@K3Nv3, Yeah, cheap and nasty earbuds don't deliver the best mids, they end up sounding really muddy.
  • SylverReZ @ SylverReZ:
@Sicklyboy, I got mine around 2022 (iirc) and it was brand new, never opened, and for £15 too compared to paying nearly £30 elsewhere.
  • SylverReZ @ SylverReZ:
@Sicklyboy, That sucks when the battery already begins to swell up. You considering on a desktop replacement, and if so, which one?
  • Sicklyboy @ Sicklyboy:
@SylverReZ damn 15 is shockingly cheap for that. Even 30 feels like a good price just given what a bunch of other FiiO stuff costs. Granted, not familiar with what those were originally selling for, so who knows lol
    +1
  • Sicklyboy @ Sicklyboy:
As far as a replacement for my BTR5, I don't really have my eyes set on anything specific yet but it'll likely be from either Fiio or Schiit Audio.

  • K3Nv3 @ K3Nv3:
    Better than tree fiddy
  • SylverReZ @ SylverReZ:
@Sicklyboy, Originally when it came out, they sold for around $40 USD according to FiiO's news bulletin. https://www.fiio.com/newsinfo/54677.html

  • SylverReZ @ SylverReZ:
@Sicklyboy, I would prefer FiiO as the better brand for a USB DAC.

  • K3Nv3 @ K3Nv3:
I feel like headphones reached a peak even ones from ten years ago sound better than new ones
  • Sicklyboy @ Sicklyboy:
@K3Nv3, all depends how much money you wanna spend. I had skullcandy headphones and shit way back when but I never liked anything as much as the headphones (and earbuds) I use nowadays
    +1
  • Sicklyboy @ Sicklyboy:
@SylverReZ yeah fwiw I've been quite happy with my FiiO BTR5 so I don't have any specific reason to not a FiiO again. Just gotta see what's available and how much I'm trying to spend lol
