Nintendo sue French linker reseller

I didn't find any news on the forum, so I'm posting it here.



After taking actions in hong Kong few months ago, Nintendo did it in France at the beginning of December to sue all resellers of flash card for DS because they used copyrighted boot code.
Almost all French resellers removed their products and it's now hard to find hardware for the nintendo DS.

It's only for nintendo DS, as resellers are still selling Wii modchip without any problem.

Yes and I've to add that Max Louarn the CEO of divineo (and owner of maxsucker) has been arrested earlier this month.
Nintendo has an history of lobbying our justice. I've heard of numerous case of people having been sentenced to jail for owning SNES linker just for homebrew.

That's sad. A lot of great homebrew comes out of France.
Atleast you can always import the carts.

Wow this sort of stuff seems to happen in France a bit more often than other places.

Anyone have a decent link to French copyright law by chance (I would prefer English as I do not think my French is quite good enough to decipher legalese seen as I can barely do it in English).

The wikipedia article has a couple of links to "semi-official" english translations and a link to the official french one.

of course they are taking more action against flashcarts, they are releasing their own soon. Why Nintendo, why must you become another corporate bully? :/

MaxConsole owner got arrested? I wasn't aware of this.. Why in the world? They were part of the same company with Divineo?
