"Nintendo Sound Clock: Alarmo" revealed

Today, Nintendo unveiled a new product it’s calling “Nintendo Sound Clock: Alarmo”, or “Alarmo” for short. As the name implies, this is a Nintendo-themed alarm clock. It plays sounds from Nintendo games and has a motion sensor that reacts to your body movements. It includes alarms and sounds based on Super Mario Odyssey, The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild, Splatoon 3, Pikmin 4, and Ring Fit Adventure. It can also download new sounds over the internet, with Animal Crossing: New Horizons and Mario Kart 8 Deluxe already planned for distribution.

Starting today, paid Nintendo Switch Online members get early access from the online My Nintendo Store, and everyone can purchase it from the Nintendo New York store while supplies last. This early access extends until early 2025. Alarmo retails for $99.99.

I wonder what measures they implemented so that people can't install custom sounds. And who they're gonna send their legions of lawyers after once someone finds a way to do so regardless.

Gee, Nintendo is really trying hard to diversify their activities, knowing their console business is bound to fail eventually

why is it named Punkt.......this is the German word for ..Point/ Dot xD
Because it's very punctual, precisely "on the dot". :tpi:

German has "punktlich" and "punkt [X] Uhr" (precisely, exactly [X] o'clock).

Both English and German have some relation between "dot" and the concept of "on time", from some common root.

So the overpriced timepiece is called "Punkt".

Because of an operation on my eyes this week I can't read all posts. Sorry for that, if the question has been answered.

I want to know, if there are alternatives to Alarmo? Especially the record how often I move around at speeping in the bed would be interesting for me.

I also think, that it would be nice to have an alarm with own sounds, because I think Alarmo can only be used with official (paid) Nintendo DLC. (Hope for a hack :D)

The sound component is not so a killing feature for me, but to see how calm or restless i'm at sleeping is interesting.

'Oooh Nintendo... I'm sleeping naked. Are you going to track me??? ;)'

Also: you know this is going to happen at one point:
couple: *makes out*
Clock: woo-hoo! :D *one-up sound*

It is the new game and watch.
It's a watch & be watched.

Someone is definitely going to make something similar now that there’s interest. Currently the Echo does it with a camera, but with a subscription service. Not many alternatives without pointing a camera at you or at your kid (for now).

My prediction is: give it until February. I’m also waiting for an alternative with custom sounds.

I saw Nintendo Sound Clock: Alarmo on Facebook post by Nintendo yesterday. I dislike it! Great for kids and teens.

Boycott this kiddy clock and forget it. :rofl2::rofl2:

Buy old school clock just like Redneck for more bang for cheaper prices! I always stick with old school clock. :P

Adult clock is my favorite over kid clock. 10 times much better than kid clock! No joke!
