Go away Wii Music, we didn't like it on the Wii, why would it be any better on the Wii U? It didn't even sell very well if I remember correctly.

And the funny thing is that they most likely won't use like 3 quarters of them so yeah, but it's mainly so bullshit people don't go ahead scamming people, wrecking Nintys image.

I find it funny because they all sound romanised because of the WiiU's name.
    - mariobrosu.com
    - wiisportsu.com
    - wiipartyu.com
    etc.

Maybe it wasn't Nintendo that bought it, some people are sad enough to buy domains themselves for some reason. It happened with PlayStation Move too when PlayStation Arc was bought but that name was never used.

..well from reading that there seems to be a lot of remakes and sequels... *sigh* I'm sick of all these "everyone can play!" games..they're not good enough to keep on your shelf.

That said... I do see why they're carrying on with them.
They're even adding a lot of 3rd party FPS games now, so they're obviously broadening their fanbase.

Tested 2 sites, both lead to Nintendo country selector. Tested more, also the lead to the Nintendo Website.

Some other lead to page not found error 404

I think most of them go to the country select, I've tried the first 5 and all go to Nintendo. But it's not difficult for someone to make it do that if they weren't from Nintendo, but it would be a bit of a waste of money to buy these just to do that.

    wiiuni.com - Under Construction page
    wiiuniverse.net - Under Construction page
    wiiuremote.com - 404 Error
    wiiuremote.net - 404 Error

The rest redirect to Nintendo's country selector.

Doing a whois on some of the domains on http://who.is shows that they all have the same domain registrar and IP address. A whois on said IP address suggests it is indeed Nintendo, however the registrar and IP address are different to those of nintendo.com

Kirby Wii isn't for the WiiU... Other than that, nothing really particularly intriguing about the domain names. Except for WiiUniverse.

I got bored and knocked up a little script ( http://www.nirsoft.net/utils/whoiscl.html and a batch file with that list all kicked to a text file rather than something interesting) to whois the lot. 29 domains of those are Nintendo's (specifically Nintendo of America)

wiiuni.com and wiiuniverse.net is David Vessell of 1944 St. Christopher Way, Arnold, Missouri registered through YahooDomains.

wiiuremote.com and .net is Melbourne IT DBS, Inc although this might be the whois server messing up.

One pastebin of the results of my script

Domains cost what $10 for a year nowadays if not less (a minor cost for most companies and especially one the size of Nintendo)? I myself have done similarly sized domain grabs for far smaller companies, indeed in some ways this is probably not even news (no slight intended WiiBricker as this is certainly relevant to here).

I don't blame them. I see people grabbing emails and domains for sites related to products all the time; somebody on Ebay was selling 3DS related business emals and getting hundreds of dollars for each one (I know it's illegal, he got away with it anyways).

they have a lot planned themselves for the wiiu. i dont think the 3rd party devs have so much interest as nintendo are trying to push. ofcourse its their own console but they are trying to show even harder what it can do.
and... will wii sport u be the best sports game on the wii u?
