Nintendo's new President Tatsumi Kimishima has stated a few comments about their new console codenamed NX. It is the next step in their dedicated device strategy and he's confirmed they are moving away from the Wii branding.

"I can assure you we're not building the next version of Wii or Wii U. It’s something unique and different. It's something where we have to move away from those platforms in order to make it something that will appeal to our consumer base."

are there news about how the NX looks like, or what it does\is?
and i don't mean fan creations, or speculation on how it looks...

Maybe they'll leave us alone and let us have full reign over the Wii U finally then. It has nice potential for homebrew (lots of RAM, decent processor (a lot stronger than the New 3DS, that's for sure), interesting controller (I find the Gamepad pretty cool to be honest)). The only thing it's really lacking is the ability to create RPX files so we can just load homebrew through Loadiine.

In 2016 you'll see.

It's a console successor far as we know, well this statement seems to imply.
I read somewhere that is a Hybrid of both Handheld and home console. Probable something like the Wii U but the controller is really portable this time? IDK I just keep reading that everywhere that it will be both sides

Possibly, there were a few patents filled by Nintendo recently that showed this theory.

Wii U... old?! I surely hope Nintendo supports their current console until later than 2016 if only for online services and whatnot.

Sounds likely, I'm hoping that the gamepad is just addon this time. Otherwise its going to be a Wiiu on steroids.

Well, but this time it's a bit different since it's a console with usable online services so that has to count for something. Iwata probably wouldn't be so harsh like this.

Which is why I like this new CEO, WiiU is a failure and he seems to recognize it.
I'm somewhat liking him too but the direction Nintendo's going is for free to play (Freemium), mobile games, paywall games and NFC toys.

Nintendo is going that direction way before him.
As long as Nintendo important titles keep paid without ads, microtransactions and all these bad influences from mobile then I'll be fine

I think Nintendo's trying to complement their console business with those products, which is fine - people have been bugging them to diversify their market for years, it was about time they started doing it. So far I think what they've been doing is pretty tasteful - labeling their games "Free to start" instead of "Free to play" might seem like a small change of words but it seems more upfront and honest about the fact that you're going to have to pay to progress. They still offer good DLC at decent prizes - like Mario Kart 8, and even for free - like Splatoon. The only exception would be Smash - the DLC prices on that game are ridiculous IMHO, but I guess that's Sora's fault and not Nintendo's.

That's not to say they're a perfect company - they need to fix a lot of shit, such as their localization policies (STOP CENSORING THINGS AND SHOVING 5 YEAR OLD MEMES INTO YOUR GAMES.), online infrastructure, etcetera, but I feel they're doing okay.

Not entirely true, indie devs are still releasing games for the original Wii/vWii on the Wii shop channel. Also it looks like the same thing will happen with the Wii U as well (from what I've been told), even long after the U's supported, indie developers will still be able to release games on the eshop. So not all is lost :P.

As for homebrew users, once the majority of support goes away for the U it will be a free for all for you all I'm sure (look what happened with the original Wii, when did the last system menu come out for that 4.3U, eons ago :P

Meh, I don't really care what they're gonna do with the new console, I only care if they're gonna continue making good games and not "free-to-play" stuff and whatnot.

IMO,I still believe Wi U would have done so much better had the name been [radically] different and more importntly, N did little to illustrate to the NON user base (of the WiiU) what this thing does (better than the Wii) Every product sold is a problem solved. What gaming problem did this one solve? I'm a (somewhat) gamer and I didn't really understanding what this had to offer without research, and I've seen/been exposed to/ the ads and promo material. Where does that leave prospects who aren't interested in the first place such as potential new gamers?

College Business 101; You have 10 seconds (during intro) of a product/person/service in which to make others realize what your product does better than any other competitor. They FAILED there. There was only one ad (IMO) that came close to correcting this, the one using the controller pad as a Golf Tee, and even that wasn't a necessary improvement.
