tl;dr I bet you're wondering "Why should I be excited?", well, let me tell you, in his last keynote at GDC 09 he announced Virtual Console Arcade, Rock n' Roll Climber, Final Fantasy Crystal Chronicles: My Life as a Darklord, Final Fantasy IV: The After Years, Wii firmware 4.0 and The Legend of Zelda: Spirit Tracks.
Hopefully we get a Final Fantasy Legends Wii port

The future is all about Nintendo, Apple and Microsoft.

I'd say a Wii refresh (Wii is reaching the end of the line IMHO)

Which is why they have had more of it this gen than any other company in the hardware business.

    (especially on the portable front.)

You've got at least another year or two before you hear about Super Wii. All the industry folks want this gen to run long because of the sh*t economy.

good point, but nintendo has got to make at least an effort to appeal to the hard core gamer, or they'll continue to be looked at as "that kiddiey console maker".

Stereotypes only appeal to the narrow minded and the ignorant fanboy.

Meanwhile Nintendo owned this gen. So it really doesn't matter what the fanboys think.

Also, "kiddy console maker" implies that all kids (and families) should only play MAH-TURE games. This also implies that adults don't enjoy or play games made for people of all ages. This is the sort of juvenielle nonsense you hear coming from the average, insecure, pimple faced teenager. (NOT implying you are one of those.)

I wouldn't say Nintendo "owned" this generation. I personally thought Microsoft did the best in terms of quality games + abundance of those games, and this is coming from a Nintendo fanboy.

Nintendo DID make a big breakthrough with the Nintendo DS, and the Wii was quite popular, as well.

Different people, different points of view

If you don't accept other points of view, you're a fanboy

Japan would strongly disagree with this statement.
