Nintendo Power Reveals Red Steel 2!
    Will feature Motion+ support
    [IMG]

The newest issue of NP has confirmed that the sequel to Red Steel, Red Steel 2, is indeed on its way. We still don't know much, but we do know that the game will support Wii Motion Plus and will possibly feature more swordplay than before.

Huh, this is probably going to be a tech demo to show what the motion+ can do with a sword. I think people would like a Star Wars game rather than a sequel to a bad game.

Ah, but that's the thing. For all it's problems, Red Steel had some interesting ideas and a load of promise...if the sequel realizes what the first one couldn't, we might have a hell of a game.

The first game had some good ideas, but a bad execution..

From the look of the supposed main character, looks like it's going to be something different.. I'll wait for the scans to judge it [IMG]

As glad as I am to see Red Steel starting a new, I kind of wish it remained in the modern Japanese culture. I find it a little weird that it will be Japanese mixed with the Wild West. Wasn't the Chinese more common in the Wild West then the Japanese? But whatever, I'm still looking forward to it. There putting alot of effort into this game. The development time has been pretty lengthy and it has gone through a redesign.

Strange that everbody is hateing Red Steel 1 so much. I really enjoyed it , but that might be because it was my first bought wii game [IMG] . But if the sword fighting is going to be as good as i expected it to be in Red Steel 1 then I'm already loving it.

I have high hopes for this, if they correct some issues from the last game then this one could be an amazing wii game. If not well then it was a waste of 2-3 years [IMG]

    The setting seems odd though

Nice, hopefully it's better then the first one.
I would like to see better graphics too, that shouldn't be too hard, since the first one his graphics sucked (because it was one of the first games on the Wii)

    More details:
    - Red Steel 2 is a series reboot
    - runs at 60fps
    - takes places in the fictional town of Caldera (think Tokyo meets Reno)
    - when Ubisoft saw the MotionPlus, they decided to reboot and take things in a new direction
    - cel-shaded style, much like XIII
    - aiming for Teen rating “The gore just doesn’t fit for us and what we’re trying to do”
    - no multiplayer
    - Wii MotionPlus exclusive (can only play with Wii MotionPlus?)
    - dual wielding Gun and sword might happen

For a rushed game I didn't think the developers did so bad, can't say I ever wanna play it again though.

The sequel however has a lot going for it, for one its got a far lot more development time and I'm pretty sure its so far got a years worth already. So when the game comes out Spring next year then at least it would have had a fair bit of love onto it.

Another thing I am liking is the prospect of a cell shaded look, it'll give a certain timeless quality to it that the likes of Wind Waker and even Ubisofts own XIII have. Also it sounds like its got a far east meets Western...we need more Western games. I dont care that there isn't any multiplayer, as long as there is a lot of game there.

I'm positive about this game, now lets see some screens and a trailer.

    No multiplayer? Not even local?
    No gore?

Bummer, I understand the gore thingy (since it's cell-shaded), but no multiplayer is unacceptable for a console like the Wii.

Wow. This looks to be promising. The first was good but had quite a few problems, understanable though.

Hmm, WiiMotionPlus support. That sounds interesting, will be an awesome game if they do it right [IMG]
They wouldn't make the same mistake twice... right?

    FIXED!

To be honest though, I never expected Red Steel 2 to have multiplayer. I always thought it would be a FPS similar to Bioshock (Unfair comparison, I know). Its FPS with a good story. It doesn't need multiplayer.

I love the art style in this game, reminds me a bit of Prince of Persia for the 360.
