Nintendo Officially Leaves The Brazilian Gaming Market

For us Brazillian it really doesn't matter... Most gamers buy imports because of the price.... Nintendo is not leaving Brazil, it is their reseller. While Brazil's government does not change the taxes politics and legislation we will always pay much more than the rest of the world.

- PS4 Launch price: Almost USD 1,800
- Toyota Corolla top of line : Almost USD 45,000

And with the devaluation of the Real before Dollar, prices will increase even more!

If you want to use the Nintendo services, create an American account, get an international credit card and enjoy.

I was thinking on buy a Wii U soon but now doesn't worth it since i won't be able to buy future games for a good price and i don't have a international credit card.

Doesn't really affect me obviously, I gotta admit it was quite funny when Nintendo decided to release Dream Team in English in Brazil even though it had been translated to Portuguese before. I guess that already demonstrated the lack of interest from Nintendo regarding the Brazilian market.

Probably because PT-PT is kinda different from PT-BR.

It's different exactly the same way as British and American English. It sounds different, has different words, sometimes a different grammar. However in the end it's still the same language.

It suxs, I know a few ppl from here who moved to Brasil cause the married somebody from there, everytime when the come to Europe back on holiday, the buy stuff not payable there.
It's also the the fault of the system there that companies run away and preffer not to sell there stuff.

That's is it. People should just stop thinking that Nintendo is evil or something. They are just being reasonable, financially speaking.

- Brazil's legislation for online stores is a mess (and much of why Nintendo doesn't have a online store here). This is most caused by banks influence on legislators.

- Taxes here, as everybody knows, are completely retarded (probably the top 3 highest ones in the world).

- Future legislations about games that are being studied today, are not really bright also (mainly cause of a guy named Moacyr Alves.. that captured popular media with his distorted legislation ideas about games :/ )

Even with all this horse shit around brazilian's heads, Nintendo had a reasonable presence here during the 90's.

In theory, prices will go up ...cause the importing costs will get higher for the end user (if he's not importing himself).

No police force cares about flashcarts in Brazil. If the product was identified as a flashcart when entering the country, revisers would at best find it cute, and then let it go its way

In another hand, stuff could be cheap in X store but expensive in Y store. If anything, I guess most stores will use MercadoLivre as their base and raise the price.

Nah ...MercadoLivre is never a base for anything (they are actually much cheaper than normal stores normally)

...they will probably multiply the importing costs by 2 and add it to the final prices, as usual.

NoA could give us the Portugal translation as DLC , but you know why they don't? they really don't care about us

lol XD yeah flashcard enter easy here if not taxed like they see the X-ray for the package " Omg it's an awesome nano cellphone! let's taxe it"(at least was what happened with my white gamecube controller ... the miss on the counter asked me if it was a cellphone when I went there to pay the fees and get my pack lol)

the most problem is that some want to collect the games because boxes are and carts cure lol, a lot don't want to piracy and it's not really easy on 3DS...
But I really can't understand why eshop games have this high values here :/

I don't know why Xplay famiclone prices increased much .. I wanted it but wen I saw , from 50 it became 110 lol (since a real famicom is much for me to buy now :x )

BR crying because Nintendo leaves? That's cute, in Argentina to buy a Nintendo System/Game (except the Wii but it was a miracle) you have to import it and pay A LOT of money, Wii U here cost 800 USD and every game around 100 USD
