In case you weren't aware, the english manual of A Link to the Past revealed that Ganon or Ganondorf's last name is Dragmire. Apparently Nintendo never used this name ever again and so it became sort of a lost mythos.

But now Nintendo actually confirmed the name of Dragmire as Ganon's actual last name via a description from the official Zelda website:
So there you have it ladies and gentlemen, with that doubt out of the mind, you can now sleep in peace.

Slow news days, but what can you do, right?

while Mario & Luigi have the last name Mario in the film, I don't think it's canon.

Nah, Miyamoto announced that Mario and Luigi's last name is indeed Mario when they released the 30th anniversary thing for Mario.

Anyways, sounds kinda dumb IMO. I dunno why everyone must insist some characters have to have a full name, especially in a series with a timeline as convoluted as Zelda

Wow. Nintendo was actually creative with Ganondorf's surname and didn't name him "Ganondorf Zelda". :P

Not really. A small team put together by NoA gave him the last name and was consider for years to be non-canon. Takashi Tezuka said for many years he consider it unofficial and an error caused by the localization team trying to make the game fit better with American audiences. I don't know what to say about them making it official and canonized.

    Dragmire.
That's a good fitting name for a badass character.

Ganondorf Dragmire. Yup, it fits him perfectly.

I guess the question now is: do all Ganondorfs have the same surname?

    Probably.
Although they could be called Clawmire, Fragmire and so on.

Not really? It is. When you think that Mario's surname is "Mario" it's beyond idiotic and Luigi is "Mario" too.

Doesn't matter if it was NoA, NoE, NoJ or whatever. They did an actual good job with Ganon's last name. :)

It makes me think of Ganondorf as a Gothic drag queen.
