Despite fan efforts and petitions, Nintendo of America has still said there are no plans of bringing Nintendo-published RPGs Xenoblade and The Last Story to the States. However, in somewhat promising news, it seems Reggie Fils-Aime (president of Nintendo of America) says they are "watching" European sales for both games.

Speaking to IGN, Fils-Aime said "We will be watching very closely what happens in Europe... Certainly if there are business opportunities and positive consumer uptake from some of those titles, that will be great data for us to consider as we look at what to do with these titles."

It seems like a possible localization may lay in the hands of the European market. The Wii is already struggling currently with no major releases for Nintendo until Skyward Sword this holiday season, so possibly two more RPGs could really help boost sales, provided that Nintendo sees a market for them in the USA.[/p]

It's possible, but I won't get my hopes up. Part of this is because if it doesn't come over, I won't have any problem with pirating it, while if it does I'll have to buy it.

I'm still not gonna buy them... Not because I was gonna pirate them but because I'm not really interested...

Only hardcore jrpg players are interested in this and sadly, they won't make this game sell enough to be profitable.

I wouldn't say hardcore, many people who just like RPGs are interested in this, too.

The only way this would get good sales is if you take all the people in europe who buy it and add all the american importers who get it. Of course, Nintendo would then bring it, but since everyone who really wanted this game already imported, then the north american sales would be terrible since everyone would have imported and they wouldn't want to buy the game in NA again.

This is bullshit. I am tired of companies (like Capcom and Nintendo here) playing games with consumers and getting their hopes up. I thought Nintendo (and Capcom) were cooler than that... [IMG]

Some people do like owning legal copies of stuff, y'know.

But thanks for your intriguing insight!

I dunno, after the extreme measures that were taken to get Mother 3 brought over, I'm not so sure.

he mentioned XenoBlade and The Last Story...I'm almost positive this guy had some sort of impact on this news...
