After having two Vitas in the household, I realized how much I preferred digital downloads over cartridge games.

What are the chances Nintendo will allow for full 3DS games on the eShop?

Highly doubtful. Potentially you would need one huge ass SD card.
If I pay full retail price, I want box and instructions anyway, but that's just my preference.
Honestly I think handheld games are getting too large to totally go digital.
Just depends on how big a collection you are wanting I guess.
I know one thing for sure, if they do it, you'll NEVER see kingdom hearts on e shop.

Some 3DS games arent too big and SD cards are WAY cheaper than sony's proprietary memory card. Also vita games include full instructions.

...whut?
In the april issue of Nintendo Power or whatever it's called there was a listing stating that Unchain Blades is going to be a DD game
I believe you can go to XSeed's site to find out more but yeah Nintendo will likely be supporting full games downloads

Largest Vita Memory Card? 32GB. Price? $90+

Largest SD card you can put in the 3DS? 64GB. Price? $58

I don't see the problem here.

Not to burst anyone's bubble but.

what was this to refer to...I understand he put the wrong size and price but
a 32GB SDHC for a 3ds is gonna cost like $30 and supplies the same amount of space that a Vita memory card would supply at 3x the price.
This means that the 3ds can roughly take in the same amount of gaming that the Vita can, assuming that full 3DS games will not be larger than Vita games(most likely true)

If this topic gets "hot" we wouldn't want people to follow the link he posted and become upset when they receive the 64GB Memory card and it can't be used. 32GB's is enough for quite a number of games.

I've got a 32GB SD and Vita memory card, so space isn't an issue for me.

Now my next question is, will Nintendo allow for more than one 3DS to be tied to a single Nintendo Network account?

This was taken from January.

One would say the Digital Distribution is for Wii U, but considering that wasn't being specific while the line below it was, it could very mean for the 3DS as well.

@Devin
ok I see, just wanted to clear up what the editing and pic meant.

But one thing about having DD games on the eshop that bothers me is the fact that Nintendo has a limit on how large a file can be. I believe it currently is at 2GB, thus limiting what full games could become available or worse cutting content or creating more DLC to replace cut content.

Please, God let there be downloadable games on the 3ds.
Here, I have to wait at least two weeks for a delivery from england and pay extra 5-10 pounds, or I have to wait a month for a new game to pop up in pulsar and pay a sh*tload of money for it.
Digital distribution is gonna be sweet, especially with the 32 gb SDHC card I have in it.

Nintendo are already cataloguing new 3DS games in the 3DS shop, and they have a proper payment system set-up. Frankly, I'd be surprised if they didn't start offering new titles in the near future.

I hope they introduce something like this. It's hard to find some games in retail stores here. We don't have fancy gamestops (no, we only have stores where they sell the lesser 3ds games and the bighype games). So a digital download will help a lot i guess. I'm hoping it's actually gonna happen.

@Maximumbeans, Indeed. I've been working on getting this Infecutus chip to work on my PS2. But after soldering, I realised that a plastic piece was missing from the power ribbon cable to the power and eject buttons.
  • SylverReZ @ SylverReZ:
Now I could go with soldering the contacts from the cable to the connector on the mobo, but doesn't sound like a good permanent solution.

Man, that's beyond my brain  I'm no good with hardware for now. I'd like to get into hardmods in future though

@Maximumbeans, Maybe start practice soldering. Get a cheap-ass soldering iron and follow some good YouTube tutorials.

Least my experience has gotten better than over a decade ago. My iron would constantly bump into components and break them.

Sounds good. I actually did soldering but like 16 years ago for school so uuuuh probably rusty haha
  • SylverReZ @ SylverReZ:
@Maximumbeans, Same here. I did soldering at school from a teacher who I honestly liked since he had plenty of good electronics experience.
