They got sued for the wiimote before and won.
Even if they lose they'll just remove the pro controller.

about as much chance of MS suing Nintendo over the pad than there is Nintendo suing MS over smart glass

Noticing your avatar, it made me remember something. Doesn't the XBox controller look like a Dreamcast controller?

Besides the second analog stick, yes. Me and a few friends used to joke the sounds that were played on the original Xbox dashboard was the ghost of the Dreamcast

    This is just crazy talk.
The Xbox, Xbox 360, PS1, PS2, PS3, Wii, Wii U, Ouya all have this controller so nobody really has any major rights over it, it's just the standard right now.
I just think you're doing some rather unrealistic speculation just to be interesting.

    Ill just leave that here.

    Anyway, back to the topic!

The WiiU controller doesnt even look like Xbox controller in anyway other then shape. The button placement isnt even the same. Microsoft is just being the same morons they usually are.

Lol... let's have a little history lesson about designs the Xbox 360 controller uses, and which of the "big 3" used them before they did...

    A/B/X/Y button labels: SNES controller

    A/B/X/Y colors: Japanese SNES controller

Diamond face button arrangement: SNES controller

    Analog stick: N64 controller

Analog stick, dpad, and button placement: GameCube controller

    Shoulder buttons: SNES controller

    Standard dpad: NES controller

Start and back/select buttons: NES controller

    "Wing" grips: Playstation controller

    Dual analog sticks: Playstation dualshock

    clickable sticks: playstation dualshock

    Controller rumble: N64 rumble pack

I think it goes without saying that Microsoft REALLY can't talk, since literally everything about the 360 controller (except for the styling of the trigger buttons) was stolen from either Nintendo or Sony.

That would horribly ironic considering the xbox 360 controller looks a lot like the gamecube controller.

Hey! That Wii-U Pro controller looks like the Xbox-er...you get the idea,
LB RB LT and RT? If that isn't a shopped image in the article, I can see why Microsoft would get butt-hurt.
I hope Micro$osft doesn't sue, I like the way the Xbox controller feels, and if Nintendo lifts the design, that would make me want to buy the Wii-U more.

zL and zR or M and N, it doesn't matter what they are called, they are the same thing. Four face buttons, a start button, a select button, a console button, two thumbsticks, to thumstick clicks, a control pad, two triggers and two bumpers.
