When I read the story I thought it was great they would let him play an exclusive early build before anyone else.

But on further reading they took him the June E3 demo that everyone who visited there got to play.

He was probably too ill to go to E3, or maybe wouldn't have gone just to play a demo anyway.

But he didn't really get to do anything earlier than anyone else.

I knew it was a demo, but i didn't know it was the one presented at E3
Also, what tells you he was there?
Maybe he couldn't due to his cancer :(

It's not clear from the story, but it's what he said it was.

I didn't say he was there.

I said that anyone who went to E3 in June could have played it, so he's not the first person outside of nintendo to play the game.

I said that maybe he didn't get a chance to go to E3 in June because he was too ill.

So in some ways it was nice it gave him a chance to play the E3 demo, but from the story I was expecting it was going to be a new build.

The billionaire people should focus and donate each year for cancer/diseases funds. It will be helpful and speed processing to end the cancer/disease much quicker. No, I have seen many Billionaire people donate other silly things instead of disease funds. SADLY!

Maybe there aren't many , but Bill gates / microsoft certainly isn't one. A quick search on google shows that Gates had given a total of 28 billion dollars to his fundation , and that total was back in 2013.

He's not talking about government
Government don't make shit with cancer, they don't try to find a cure or anything like
Drug companies however, receives hundreds of millions every year for cure for cancer
Why would THEY release a cure if they still can make money?
Hell, even government invest money for it...
yeah drug companies in the states. Drugs don't cost shit here. Gee if i want to buy 100 pills ibuprofen i pay like 30 cents for a package.

thats why nintendo is the best out of the big three :o (kindness aspect - dont want to start a fanboy shit here)
i doubt sony / microsoft would do such a thing

nice move of them
Yeah Nintendo the individual who cares about each one of their customers they see them as friends and totally did this out of the kindness of their hearts, not because the earlier tweets of this dude caught a ton of attention beforehand.
I'm sure this is the only guy who has a terrible illness who said he wanted to play a nintendo game out of 7 billion people, and so this gathering a lot of social media hype was not a PR move at all.

The same kind person Nintendo who wants you to pay 20$ a year to gate p2p online you already paid for with your ISP sub. The same Person who releases 3 versions of a FE game in which one has no random encounters, generally menu options in all other cases. They are just kind and personally care about you. The great person who sells NES roms at $5 a pop and kills nonprofit passion projects that went on for 10 years that only generate publicity for you. The same kind person that kills youtuber's jobs by asking for 30% of their revenue upfront for using a product they purchased.
They just love you, they are truly different than all the other businesses.

It's same in poland, but, the drug company still gets the price you'd pay in other country. In our countries, the healthcare fund simply refunds the drug, you pay 30 cents, they pay the rest.

Back in 2011, during the London riot, a guy was attacked by a gang of criminals. Had a broken jaw and everything. "Someone" helped him getting up and he ended up stealing his PSP from his backback. The internet helped him with donations for his medical bills (pledging more than $36,000) and Sony offered to give him a new PSP and games. So did Namco Bandai, sending him a few games too.

I find a big difference between PR stunts and just doing the right thing. No one remembers what Sony did, but it was remarkable. Nintendo went underdog with this, in fear of the demo to be stolen, but they still let him play.

EDIT: to clarify, everyone involved in this was eventually arrested (from the attacker to the thieves)

The thing is that hospitals and such aren't private here. Doctors, surgeons and such drive a normal car here while in the states they drive ferrari's and so forth

Bill Gates actually donates more to charities than anyone else in the world. Microsoft also has a very generous scholarship program. This, however, is just a blatant publicity stunt by Nintendo.

Lolwut? Find me one doctor in the southern US that drives high end cars past a Lexus. Sorry, but Los Angeles ≠ the entire US.

It was a nice gesture, but its nothing new. There was a destiny player who had 7 brain surgeries and Bungie gifted him a unique scout rifle. 2k/Gearbox has a fan who passed away in the game as an NPC who gifts you stuff. etc. Its basically the same as capitalistic companies pretending to take sides on current political issues making you think they are on your side, thus getting you to buy more of their stuff. When in reality, they dont honestly care about you and your views.
This is how I see it:

Nintendo lets him play the game:
Internet: Well they only did it to look good, they don't give a shit about him.

Nintendo doesn't let him play the game:
Internet: What a bunch of heartless fuckers those cunts at Nintendo are! They denied this innocent young man his dying wish.

Who are Nintendo anyway? They are a group of people working together to make money in what we call a company. Sure, the psychopaths and narcissists at the top don't give a shit about him (or us). But lower in the ladder we have normal people who will have different unspoken opinions on this guy. Some of them will be happy he got to play his game.

Despite Nintendo's official stance on piracy Miyamoto played a pirated copy of Super Mario Land on a hacked PSP.

It was the internet who begged Nintendo to let him play the game early and the internet who publicised Nintendo's decision. I think that by letting him play the game and not making a big deal over it themselves Nintendo dealt with the situation in a way that is both good for business and ethical.
