Nintendo announced a new Indie World presentation today, set to run tomorrow, December 15, at 9am PT/12pm ET. It will run roughly fifteen minutes in length and will feature new game announcements and updates on previously announced titles from Nintendo's global partners.

Lol, I suppose so. It seems like only a few good idnie titles ever get a cult following, like Freedom Planet, Castle Crashers, Cuphead, Super Meat Boy, World of Goo, etc. Those are AAA indie titles in my opinion.

I'd say we definitely get way more worthwhile indie releases each year than AAA, but that's consistent with the 10% rule regardless, due to the quantity and shorter development cycles of indie games.

In 2020 alone we got:

And those are just all the good ones that ended up in my Steam library. By comparison, there were only three or four AAA games worth picking up this year, even including next-gen titles.

Just play anything that interest you. With that said those who slash off games from their radar just because they're indies will miss out big time.

Yeah that actually seems to be the best "Pokemon-like" released this year, and there were quite a few. Monster Sanctuary looks great too, but that seems to be more a metroidvania with some Pokemonesque elements.
