Nintendo has quietly delisted over 250 DSiWare games from the North American 3DS eShop

Super Mario 3D All-Stars and Super Mario Bros. 35 won't be the only games Nintendo delists in 2021. It seems that DSiWare games are vanishing from the eShop without any warning. More than 250 DSiWare games, including Shantae: Risky's Revenge, Mighty Flip Champs, and more have been delisted and are no longer available to buy. While the DSi Shop was previously shut down in 2017, users could still purchase these DSiWare titles on the Nintendo 3DS line of systems. Currently, this appears to be impacting the North American eShop specifically, as the European and Japanese versions still have most of their library intact for now.

It seems the majority of DSi games are back on the 3DS eShop in North America.

[UPDATED 01/08/21] Even better news today! This short list comprises the only DSi titles NOT back up on the 3DS eShop in North America now. Some were previously delisted like Digger Dan and the Petz titles so those aren’t expected to come back but maybe a few more will pop up over the weekend? I’ll keep checking to see. Thanks again to Wakayama_PT for the update.

Ah yes, nothing like Nintendo being dicks and not informing or giving people a heads up over the removal of DSi games. Makes me feel even more happy to pirate their games just to piss those asshats off.

Edit: How the deuce does Nintendo "accidentally" delist games and then add them back on over an "error"? Sounds like lazy programmers.

It's good to see them back. It's a shame most people don't know or care that the initial delisting was an error, though. That isn't 'Nintendo bad' enough.
Maybe the staff will post a news message about the return.

Honestly not a clue. But... it wasn't malicious, at least? Nintendo, from what I've seen, is pretty good with announcing their own shutdowns in advance. And they're back now, they fixed the issue, all is well.

My theory is that they, for some reason, set these titles to be available internally until 1-1-2021, since that seems to be when they were removed. Why such a thing'd happen at all... no clue, honestly.

But, you see, that just doesn't get the same clicks and attention as a post about Nintendo doing something bad!
