The title says it all, I think many people had these issues due to a small design flaw in the DSi.

Anyways, my “R” trigger has just gone bad. It’s always holding down the trigger while it isn’t, and when I press it, it stops, and I never know when it will do stuff again with the trigger.

Did a plunger broke, is a ribbon cable broken, or does the trigger need a cleanup?

you most likely just need to remove the trigger, then clean underneath it with a can of compressed air. Or your breath if it's about the same temperature as the unit, just to avoid condensation.
