A fair bit of casual games for this week. Theres also the usual movie cash ins. This time I'm just doing descriptions and pics for the NEW games and then just listing the re-releases. Some Japanese games have pictures some don't depends on what I think people will find interesting. Some of the titles do have links to pictures/description so click on the ones that will let you to see them. Looks like we'll be busy playing our DS's again this week and also looks like Nintendo are gonna make arse loads of money with More Brain Training.

    25th June

Harry Potter & Order of the Phoenix USA (Europe 28th, UK 29th) Genre: Adventure

Based on the 5th film (which is based on the 5th book, in case you're stupid) this is an adventurey game like previous titles. You can use the stylus for spells, explore Hogwarts and all that. You goto classes to earn your O.W.L. grades and eventually finish your exams. Get involved with many mini games including Quiditch which are also multiplayer via link up. Some parts let you play as Robbie Coltrane from Cracker and that fella who plays Sirius Black. Looks very pretty indeed, but I'd rather give EA us those cool GBC RPG games they did for the GBC. A GBA version is out 10th July.

Touchmaster USA (Europe Release 29th) Genre: Puzzle

Tired of Club House Games? Well you might be interested in this one. Basically there is 23 games in total some of which are: Checkers, Yahtzee, Wheel of Fortune, Mahjong, Solitare, Dominoes and much more. You can also link up WFC for Midway Tournament Network for high score rankings, tournaments and daily rankings.

    26th June

Hoshigami Remix US Genre: Strategy/role play-me-do

A remake of the PSX RPG/strategy which is held in some high esteem in most RPG circles. Famitsu gave the Japanese DS version 6,6,7,6 (25/40) which doesn't sound promising but hey its always best to play it first, what the hell do reviewers know? Gamestats average press score of the original game is erm 4.9/10 but then most RPG review sites rank it as highly as 9/10 so I guess its one of those marmite type games like Etrian Odyssey.

LifeSigns: Hospital Affairs[/b]Europe Genre: Adventure/Hospital Sim

An English release of the Tendo Doctor, Kenshuui Tendou Dokuta series which debuted way back in 2004. As a Doctor you will be continuously confronted with medical emergencies and personnel issues that require your immediate attention. Communicate and interact with patients, nurses and other doctors in this dramatic medical simulation game where you are the Doctor on call! Images below are from the Japanese game as I can't find English versions right now. Both Surgical Unit & Hospital Affairs are the same game but have a different title for different regions for some silly reason. USA version has been pushed back to August 21st.

Nervous BrickDown USA Genre: Break out

Quite a lot of people are looking forward to this, including me as the DS hasn't had much luck on the break out style games. This looks promising with 135 levels, different ways to play and also online play! IGN calls it the best Break Out clone ever, which is saying something as there are some great ones out there.
    [IMG] [IMG] [IMG]

    Ratatouille USA Genre: Platform-me-do

Oh goody another CGI Animal film. This one is on a Pixar film (so the film could be good though Cars was a bit meh) Not a lot has been said about this game, but it certainly looks quite pretty and detailed. 3D platformer with some Cooking Mama style mini games and you can control with the touchscreen. Might be good but then its a film licence by THQ so maybe not. More screens here.

    June 28th

Chuukana Janshi Tenhoo Painyan Remix Japan Genre: Board game perv-me-do

Apparently this is a board game video game...looks kinda pervy to me but then thats how my mind works.
    [IMG] [IMG] [IMG]

Katekyô Hitman REBORN! DS Flame Rumble Mukuro Kyôshû Japan Genre: Kick bum-me-do

The last game was only released in March and now comes another title in the fighting series which is based on a Manga/Anime
    [IMG] [IMG] [IMG]

    Also out in Japan:
Gamics Series Vol. 1: Yokoyama Mitsuteru - San Goku Shi - Vol. 6The sixth Romancing of the Three Kingdoms strategy game for the DS.
Kawa no Nushi Tsuri DS. The excellent RPG/fishing title River King series comes to the DS, the US release will be titled River King: Wonderland though no release date is set.
Kiku! Kaku! Kotoba o Fuyasu! Hajimete no Eigo Training. Another DS edutainment title featuring mini games.
Kosume Chick * Paradise. Beats me what this is!
KuriKuri DS Otasuke Island. The Japanese version of Cookie & Cream, the US version is always being delayed so dunno when we'll see it.
Maru Kaite DonDon Oboeru: Kyoui no Tsugawa Shiki Kanji Kioku Jutsu. Yet another edutainment title.
Otona no Onnaryoku Kentei. Konami's title thats based on the book of the same name, the game attempts to teach players the knowledge, manners and skills required of an upstanding woman. Topics include love, business and private life.
Simple DS Series Vol.16: Sagasô Fushigi na Konchû no Mori.. An RPG title.
"Ukkari" o nakusô! Bunshô Yomi Training Yomi Tore. Nintendo and Intelligent Systems newest Japanese training title.
Uranai demo shite miyôka DS. Dunno what it is but the images looks like its some sort of lesbian game...maybe not but thats what it looks like to me.

    June 29th

More Brain Training from Dr Kawashima: How Old Is Your Brain? (AKA Brain Age 2)Europe Genre: Trainer-me-do

The sequel to the massively successful DS title that has practically sold the DS to millions of people promises better voice and writing recognition and some new games. Also has 100 brand new Sudoku puzzles as well. Currently receiving some excellent reviews over here. If you look at the trailer you'll see that it looks like theres a version of Dr Mario on it! To be released in US as Brain Age 2 in August.

    [IMG] [IMG]

Vegas Casino High! USA Genre: Casino-me-do

A collection of Casino mini games where you use the touchscreen to play. Yes not very original but who knows...could be alright if you like that sort of thing.
    [IMG][IMG]

These titles are also to come out in Europe but have already been dumped onto the Interwebs:
Dino Master. Crap Qix style game, one of the worst DS games...ever...avoid!
F24: Stealth Fighter. Crap flight sim.
Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix. See the USA description.
Impossible Mission DSGood but fairly hard for most gamers action/puzzle game based on the C64 classic.
MechAssault: Phantom War.Its not bad but the controls ruin what could've been a fine game.
Nacho Libre. Horrible wrestling game based on the boring film.
Puzzle League Aka Panel de Pon and Planet Puzzle League. Excellent puzzler with great online mode.
Super Black Bass Fishing This is a blaxplotation style fishing game, as Super Black you must catch all the badass fish before the honkys get to them...nah not really this is just a bog standard terrible fishing game.

Released on June 30th in US.
Professor Brainium's Games.Ah yet another brain game, will you lot really play this over Brain Age 2? This is always being delayed so expect it to slip. Can't find no pics of it right now.
Rafa Nadal Tennis Its ok, not too bad but nothing great.

    Turn It Around USA Turn-me-do

24 mini games where you have to basically "turn" the wheel to complete the games. Should have been called Rotate It Around really.
    [IMG] [IMG] [IMG]

There are also two GBA titles too! Horsez which lets be honest will be crap and of course Rataouille, which might be a good GBA platformer or it might not but bless THQ for bleeding the GBA dry.

Few that took a while! There was a lot more games, mostly PC puzzlers but they were pushed back. Again as usual dates change some games may appear blah blah blah. Enjoy!

Nervous BrickDown - Been looking forward to this. Also top right hand screen looks like Vib Ribbon... what's up with that?!

    More Brain Training - MOAR!

Turn It Around - looks fun meant to try out the Japanese version but never did.

p.s Kosume Chick * Paradise looks like some sort of crappy girls dressup game judging by the boxart.

Dr. Mario in Brain Age 2? Um... wow? [IMG]

Quite possibly the best puzzle game ever, and I have yet to be beaten. If only it was Wifi though, my friends are no challenge [IMG]

Again some nice releases! Thanks a lot hadrian!

I think I'll try Harry Potter, though it actually looks like crap... Touchmaster seems like a cash-in to me, but the commercial was very funny [IMG] LifeSigns might be good, I quite like Trauma Center. Nervous Brickdown will, of course, rock! Ratatouille... I don't know. Well, we don't have very many 3D platformers for the DS, so...
I will play Brain Age 2 too! It's the European version, so probably it will even be in Dutch! And I'm looking forward to Turn It Around for some time now.

    In short: great week!

Yeah I only just fount that out by looking at the trailer! didn't know before, just been reading up on it. Apparently its called Virus Buster and you have to unlock it first. Apparently its there so you can "relax your brain" after some of the tests.

I've just pre-ordered it for £16.99 free delivery at Amazon, didn't buy the first game but will this one. My missus plays it all the time, might get her to unlock Dr Mario clone for me [IMG] .
