Hello there sexy people, was a little bored so I thought I'd do a little "forthcoming" thread for games that are suppose to be released in August. Basically its kinda the same as the "NDS Releases Next Week" thing but its not as complete. I chose a selection of games that I feel could be mighty fine games, copied the companies burb and added some piccys. This isn't gonna replace my NDS weekly thread, its just intended to bring a bit more hype to some future titles. Worms: Open Warfare 2 Turn base battle-me-do Taking gaming on the move to the next level by taking the battle online. Test your skills and fight it out with other worms fiends from anywhere around the world. With all new single player and multiplayer modes, weapons, scenarios and unprecedented customization options for your worms, Worms: Open Warfare 2 is the most comprehensive Worms title yet with WFC, create your own landscapes and lots of new modes. Generals will plan, plot and strategize their way to victory on the battlefield. Command an army of heroes, creatures and beloved rabites with the use of the Nintendo DS Touch Screen, and experience an all-new perspective on the ever-evolving battle for the Mana Tree. Skilled players can see how they rank among other players around the world through the Nintendo Wi-Fi ranking system Video Link: http://youtube.com/watch?v=5jeh1YAaapA Luminous Arc Adventure strategy-me-do Luminous Arc splits its gameplay into adventure and strategy parts. During the adventure sequences, you converse with other characters and progress through the storyline. You can move between locations on a world map and purchase items and weapons from a shop. The game will feature voice acting, apparently from a famous voice cast. Strategy sequences take form in grid-based battles, with players placing their attack squad and then taking turns attacking with stylus-driven moves on the gridboard. Described by producer Yoshifumi Hashimoto as Harvest Moon where you wield a sword, the game has being developed with the idea of creating a fantasy world in which the player exists, rather than the standard type of RPG where you play the role of a hero and work your way through a storyline. You are able to capture monsters, raise them on your farm, and add them to your adventuring party. Video Link: http://youtube.com/watch?v=j1jD_3u2W-E Lifesigns: Surgical Unit Hospital Adventure-me-do It's a matter of life and death in this hospital adventure game. You must strive to become the top intern at one of the country's best hospitals. As though you were a real doctor, you will be continuously confronted with medical emergencies and personnel issues that require your immediate attention. Communicate and interact with patients, nurses and other doctors in this dramatic medical simulation game where you are the doctor on call! Video Link: http://youtube.com/watch?v=sj5vCoBlo98 The Settlers Town build-me-do A translation of the popular PC RTS series from Germany to the handheld DS system. The franchise leaves it entirely in the player's hands to build up and expand his empire, with both battles and empire bulding features. The DS version includes two campaigns (one for the Romans and the rest of the settled World, including Vikings, Nubians and Asians) across two play modes (play in Free mode or challenge the computer for control of the world). Players can go to war with six types of soldiers, or make a pieceful colony of shipbuilders, farmers, cattle breeders, hunters, fishermen, and other class types in a total of 30 job types. The Nintendo DS version also allows play with the stylus, where you can build your roads and direct your settlers via the touchscreen. A table editor gives players an opportunity to design and create personalized tables, whilst gamers battling against their friends for that coveted high-score can employ the all-new versus mode to sabotage their opponent's score. Video Link: http://youtube.com/watch?v=FcHt23NOWH4 Also due out in the month that could either be good, bad or just plain average are Tiger Woods PGA Tour 08, Madden NFL '08, 3 Mega Man Star Force titles, High School Musical, AniMates, Deal or No Deal, Corvette Evolution GT, Turn It Around and Genius. Japanese Highlights Slide Adventure: Mag Kid Slide-me-do You play as Mag Kid, a fellow fortunate enough to have magnetic powers. Mag Kid can ram into and paralyse his enemies (achieved by sliding the DS), which he can then attach to himself. This gives him various special powers depending on the enemy type, including lasers and fire breath. Better yet, when your hangers-on have ceased to be useful, you can shake the DS to release them! Not many pictures but there was some in Famitsu, visit this GBAtemp thread for them and more details. Final Fantasy Crystal Chronicles: Ring of Fates RPG-me-do Witness the tale of twin children blessed by the crystals, whose inseparable fate leads them on a journey fraught with trials. Experience the journey of Ring of Fates in a compelling single-player mode. Tackle challenging quests with the help of your friends in a cooperative multiplayer mode, or play head-to-head multiplayer mode, both supporting up to four players! Video Link: http://youtube.com/watch?v=QuDbj7vJ4HU One Piece: Gear Spirit Smash Brosclone-me-do Luffy and the gang are back! Not only are they busting out onto the DS with their very own fighting game, they're doing it in style! For one thing, Gear Spirit can incorporate up to four players in one big brawl. While the top screen shows you all the action, the bottom screen allows you to watch the status of your character and that of your opponents'. Another gameplay quirk is the introduction of Spirit Cards. Each victory against a particular opponent nets you a random Spirit Card. These cards can be used by tapping the touch screen to activate a card, increasing a particular stat for a short period of time and allowing you the opportunity to really bring some hurting to your opponents. Video Link: http://youtube.com/watch?v=1iTlLWftbWY Summon Night Twin Edge: Seireitachi no Kyoumei RPG-me-do The return of the successful RPG series comes to the DS. The game’s protagonists are composed of Aldo and Leeha who dream of nothing more than to become true invokers of summoning; and much like its GBA handheld ancestors, Summon Night DS will be an action RPG. Do you feel that theres game that I've not featured due for August should be talked up? Please feel free to say.
