Hardware Nintendo Discusses 3DS Successor

Hey folks getting ready for work but saw this and figured I'd throw it here for discussion.

I hate to bring up something that might burst your bubble, I really do, but…: http://nintendoeverything.com/clarification-on-3ds-successor-news/. That being said, I also think that it would be neat if the 3DS got a true successor, especially if it was integrated into the Switch platform somehow.

Like others have pointed out, what would make the most sense for nintendo to do is ride out the 3ds for another 1-2 years while trying to engineer down the switch to a more portable, cheaper incarnation with fixed controllers and a smaller screen. Once they can do so at a $200 price point, a release would make sense as a 3ds replacement. Right now it's just too big and expensive to replace the 3ds.
