I like the idea for the street pass. I got only ONE street pass and that's from some person I met while waiting for class to start. The rest were from spotpass. My college is in the city so I walk past a ton of Starbucks/McDonalds. They said it is going to start in autumn so maybe I'll get some street passes while walking to school.

Eh? Spotpass doesn't work like that. Unless you mean when you play online.

Look at Fire Emblem. It wasn't that big here in the North America, but it's on fire and the love it's getting is insane.

Anyways, just to summarize, tell me if I'm right.

Basically we go to a McDonalds/Starbucks, and instead of streetpassing with someone who's like a few feet away from us, our data gets sent up into a server, which can be shared throughout other McDonalds/Starbucks? Right now, the only people I streetpass is like one or two in Wal-Mart, and the rest at EBGames. Hell here, you're frowned upon by people for carrying like a 3DS in stores because people will think you stole it (Which is dumb because it's easy to prove you didn't).
It sounds to me like that particular McDonald's/Starbucks stores up all the streetpass data from visitors in a given day, and whenever you visit, it takes the data for all those visitors and sends it to your 3DS.

For example, if five 3DSes entered McDonald's at various times, and then later on you entered McDonald's, you'd get the collected streetpass data from all five of those 3DSes through the Nintendo Zone, even though those 3DSes are no longer there. Meanwhile, I assume they would get your streetpass data once reconnecting to wireless or something.

Still be cool. I mean right now, Puzzle Swap is impossible for me to complete. Same with the Find Mii.

I have several puzzle panels on which I have *only* the purple puzzle pieces unlocked and nothing else, which is pretty funny considering how uncommon it is to run into another person via Streetpass.
Hopefully this Streetpass update works at 100% of Starbucks/McDonald's and keeps track of literally everyone who passed by with their 3DS in Sleep Mode.
That way, you could just walk up to a Starbucks like 5 years from now on and get 99 tags instantly or something.

Different subject, but the problem with buying puzzle pieces with Play Coins is that it gives you one at random, including those you already have.
Wouldn't be so bad if it only gave you pieces you didn't have IMO. It would leave just the purple pieces.

This is off-topic, but, it's funny you say that.
I used up my 300 coins today getting puzzle pieces :P
I got around 60-70 pieces today, which is good because I don't really street pass anybody here. Not at work, not at Walmart, not anywhere.

It probably would have been nicer if you could just get Streetpass tags from Spotpass. Say, 10 random tags per 24-hour period.

But that would only turn lots of Westerners into time travellers, lol.

Maybe having it check the time on Nintendo's servers instead of taking it from the system could fix that issue.

Nintendo would lose money. Why would they just release a free game and give everything in it for free? There's gotta be a way for them to make money.

Look at Tank Tank Tank on WiiU. It's free, but for the more premium features, you have to pay.

Even if Nintendo charged money for different (lets just use Zelda as an example) hats for link to wear, lots of people would pay for it. Look at Team Fortress 2. Like all of the money Valve makes off of it is from people buying hats.

That's a game unavailable on any platform since it's original release on the GBA, and the anniversary version was available only for a limited time as a special occasion.

Either way, it's besides the point that f2p doesn't just mean a free game, it's a business model with specific rules. Other posters here have given examples.

If that slide is anything to go by, you probably shouldn't get too excited for these unannounced third party titles.

I dunno... 5 of the games on the slide excite me because I'd rather play them on my Wii U than on my PS3. Sure, they're not exclusives, but gaems is gaems and I'm just glad I can play them on my main console and don't have to buy them for an old console, nor buy a new console, just to play them.

I do agree with you that people shouldn't get their hopes up, though. I'd love to see more third-party games come because I probably won't be buying a PS4 or XBone, but I'm not really hopeful that the Wii U will end up with a considerably better library than those consoles. Anyway, that statement doesn't really mean anything: they're just stating the obvious in order to reaffirm people that not all 3rd parties have abandoned the Wii U.
