Nintendo bricks your 3DS if you take "obscene" photos

It was discovered today by IGN accidentally that the 3DS analyzes every photo you take and keeps a secret log of ones it considers "obscene". Whenever you go online, this log is checked by Nintendo, and if anything is found, the screen is replaced by a graphic of Mario looking disappointed and the 3DS thereafter fails to display anything else.

When asked for comment, Nintendo only said they had to keep up their reputation as a family friendly company.

reputation. it's mentioned above. the '3DS' name is their property. it's not good for ninty's rep if it's gonna be known that Nintendo does nothing about obscene stuff.

Oh, drat. Well, I can't say I wasn't expecting this. This may alter my decision to purchase a 3DS, honesty.
