Nintendo has announced that a new Dr. Mario title, 'Dr. Mario World', will be coming to mobile devices later this year. This announcement comes with the news that Nintendo has established a partnership with LINE Corporation. LINE is known for publishing the game 'Cookie Run', as well as numerous mobile applications.

The application will be free-to-play, with optional in-app purchases. It is planned to release on iOS and Android in early Summer.

Perhaps this is why Tour was also delayed. I’m excited for this.

On one hand this might actually be a new game instead of a port of the Nes game. On the other, save maybe for that RPG, Nintendo Mobile games suck so far.

Wow....Ninty is really looking forward to the mobile games market.

I was going to post this in a different thread.....but it would probably disappear.

So, the above might be too ambitious, like most over-hyped, pretentious things people want to be awesome, but in reality, suck major booty.

Dr. Mario is a title I can get behind--just enough input and control.

    Good work, Daisies.

For some reason, I have a feeling the controls will be the same way as EA's Tetris on phones (which I hope it isn't.)

Dr. Mario and Fire Emblem are both really good choices for IPs to use in the mobile space. They've already got FE Heroes and a couple Pokemon titles, so this was the logical next step.

I'm worried that this is going to be full of micro-transactions...

Honestly their other mobile games haven't been bad in this regard, save maybe Super Mario Run. FE Heroes and Pokemon Duel I've been able to play to contentment and get some of the best characters/Pokemon without spending a dime.

Going by the game's title, I wonder if it'll actually have a story/campaign again (like Dr. Mario 64) and if there will be other characters besides Dr. Mario and Dr. Luigi (whether they're playable or not).

What is certain is that it will be a multi-hundred-megabyte release

Think of all the kids that are going to be encouraged to study medicine because of this game :)

Personally think that Tetris Attack/Panel De Pon would work better on touchscreen.

This is a really good idea. Puzzle games make perfect sense on mobile, where you often just want something to play for a few minutes while you're on the bus or waiting for something/someone.
You can easily bypass root checks with Magisk.
I'd play that. Generally puzzle games aren't my thing, but Tetris Attack, Puyo Puyo and Bubble Bobble are some notable exceptions to that. There are already a million Bubble Bobble clones on mobile, but last time I checked there wasn't an exact clone of Puyo Puyo or Tetris Attack.

I certainly find the DSiware version much more playable than Pokemon Puzzle Challenge...

Not like they were using this ip for anything else.

I thought most of their games would be made by the same mobile company.

A lot of their older IPs work quite well on mobile.
This is definitely one of them.
