Gaming Nintendo and The Switch is a HUGE Disappointment!

Well, you forgot to remove 2 PS4 remasters of the list (and no, there are no changes to SotC's gameplay. You can change the button configuration this time, but the game still plays like the same) . Not counting the two "stand-alone DLCs" (and I'll not talk about DOAX3...), expanded remakes and the lifetime of each console.

The thing is, I'm not complaining about personal preferences here, but it's not exactly possible to compare the experience that each game provides. For an example, to say that games like Killzone: Shadow Fall and The Order: 1886 are way better than anything on the Switch side can only be a joke in my opinion. DriveClub is just OK, and The Last Guardian is way below expectations. As you included games yet to be released, you forgot some of the Switch titles like No More Heroes, Demon X Machina, Fire Emblem: TTH, Shin Megami Tensei 5 and Bayonetta 3 for example.

In my opinion, you're mistaking quality with technical values. Both consoles have great games, but provides different experiences. You can't just judge which is better or worse based on this alone. In the end, the personal preferences will be the decisive factor. Instead of comparing them, just play both of them. 8D

That said, the game is a remake, not a HD upgrade so it gets included while the last of us does not. Ratchet and clank is a completely different game, Lost legacy is not a stand alone DLC. But the case could be made for first light.DOAX3 is a legitimate game as much as you may not like that.

Killzone or the order are not better than the top 3 released switch games listed. But are much better than knack, knack 2, Kirby, 1-2 switch, snipperclips, and arms, etc. Driveclub is great, especially with all dlc and multiplayer. That's why I scored the last guardian low.

I do play both. But I'm not going to pretend that the switch is doing well game wise, or that the quality of switch games is better than the PS4 offering. Odyssey was great, mushroom kingdom isnt as good as xcom 2, and chronicles 2 is the worst Xenoblade.

Well what's good for one, so I shall move mine to both include remasters with actual added content, and remove games under an 80% score as they're not counted as great. So I'm adding in Golf Story, Mario Kart 8 and Donkey Kong but removing 1 from Switch under that 80% mark. While removing, jeez 9! That's alot of mediocre games from Sony huh.

So that makes Switch in 1.5 years to 6 compared to PS4 in 4.5 years at 11.

So what we've learnt from this exercise in subjective exclusion, is even without constantly moving goal posts Sony produces more mediocre games than Nintendo, and Nintendo produces more consistently great exclusives than Sony.

And if the trend continues by the end of both consoles lifespans Nintendo will have more exclusives, and better rated too, than Sony.

The OP has imho a fair point... despite all the examples how big fun the switch is, and that you can't compare it to other game consoles/pc/portables, the lineup of titles is poor and it is not going to be much better when you take AAA titles from 3rd parties (or rather the lack of them) into consideration.

Even the Wiiu had good 3rd party games like Call of Duty (2 of them) and Assassins Creed (also 2) which all of them were considered to be very good ports. The WIIu is said to be weaker then the Switch but I don't see ports of Far Cry 5, Call of Duty or AC on the switch.
Okay the Wiiu failed and the ports of the best -mostly Nintendo- games to the switch is a good (money making) move but missing out on good NEW (3rd party) titles is imho a failure and consoles 'died' because of missing titles (Vita and Wiiu....also bad marketing but it is the circel of death... no content, no sales, no sales, no content).
The Wiiu survived somewhat longer only because Nintendo released new games now and then....... that can't save a console. The Switch atm shows a remarkable similar resemblance with almost only Nintendo releasing titles (and please filter out the e-shop crap and shovelware)

I wonder how many switches will going to gather dust when the first fun is over.

The biggest disappointment on the Switch is that they refuse to give Indies access to the SDK... and I don't mean the "few elected ones". And their developer communication is really crap... like 3+ month until they answer requests. Really, really huge major league disappointment.

Switch's lineup keeps getting better. No, it hasn't outdone a console that's been out five times longer YET. But it's a better purchase. You'll get more out of it.

I don't see you guys' problem with Switch. SO WHAT it doesnt have as many ports, exclusives, fun games as the other consoles... you know what I say, don't buy it, dont play it, play your PS4s, Xbox Ones, hell other stuff too. Switch is good for what it is, a Portable Convertable Game System. We have spent years waiting for ways to play our handhelds on big screens to where Switch comes out with it in tow. Switch also has a LOT of indie titles that actually got me into indie games, as games like Mr. Shifty, Implosion, hell Binding of Isaac, yea they are on other systems, but I don't wanna sit at my Xbox and play Mr. Shifty, I wanna play it on my TV when I feel like it, and then take it to my toilet and take a shit. I have a GPD Win 2, so I can play a LOT of games on the go anyway, but that thing gets hot and im already on number 2 cause its a shitty build.

The Switch isn't the most impressive graphically, but Nintendo systems havent been since SNES in my opinon. But that doesnt stop the games on their from being Fun. Arms is one of my favorite fighting games... Sure I could use hekate to play 3rd strike, and arguably better on pfba, but I dont always want the hassle of using a jig, and I don't feel like popping open a joycon to hack it just for this purpose. I can just play SF30th Anniversary. More people play MK8 on Switch than Wii U, so I don't play it on Wii U. I am not a Zelda Fan, but I play it more on Switch than Wii U, cause I travel alot. Yes all the mult-plat games look better on home consoles, but just like 3DS, and every single handheld before it, its supposed to, and even now, games like BBCTB, that are AAA Multiports, you honestly can't tell...

So how bout we stop downing one system or another and just play what game you like, and let others have their fun with whatever game they like? I have PS4, XBox One X, and Switch (3, with one broken one :/) as well as variouus other systems, I play what I want to play, and if someone plays something different, thats cool too...

lets be honest what made the wii have poor support was that the main controllers were unorthodox, and many games played like pure crap since not enough buttons made games use crap motion stuff that hindered the games.

It was bad, but the stock was also inflated by hype. It's been higher before during Wii, but was bound to start leveling off with the realistic long term performance of Switch becoming clear. Those who invested during the Wii U slump are still pretty well off.

Ratchet and clank, shadow of the colossus, and medievil are actual remakes. Mario kart 8 Dx, Pokken Dx, Donkey Kong country, and all other wii U ports are not actual remakes and do not deserve a place on the list.
If you now want to take em above 80, then fine. 3 to 12. Golf story is 78 on meta. so thats 4 times the games in 3 times the time, instead of 5 in 3. Plus yakuza kiwami 2 scoring 80 plus in japan, so really its 13.

According to my library and wishlists, Switch and PS4 have very close to the same number of worthwhile exclusives. That's definitely more impressive for Switch, and makes me wonder what Sony has been doing with all the extra time. Oh right, they've been developing "cinematic" games (movies) that I don't care about.

Yes because comparing a 1 year old console/handheld to something that's been in the market for about 4 to 6 years is fair.

There is so many threads contrasting opinions, but there is even more just insulting the company for stuff the poster doesn't like. There is reasonable ways to express concern or disappointment without insulting them. Sure you are upset, is understandable. There is lots of people who are, but seem like some threads are just straight up malicious hate rather than just expressing lack of interest.

As for it being a disappointment. I don't like some of the games on switch, but they have more stuff that I do so I'm not too upset. At first I was upset at switch during launch for lack of content, but now there is more. Port or not, if it helps sell the console or the games themself, then good. The fact switch is already selling like a yard sale, having popular games on it makes it more apparent. I do agree the system should have more exclusives as it gives more reason for the console to feel unique and special compared to others.

Still i don't see no one complaining about Xbox putting all their xbox games on pc, probably cause people love pc, not one complaint about that. Still they seem hellbent on selling xbox one x as the most powerful console for a expensive price. Meanwhile playstation has some good exclusive games, but what are opinions for? Just biased statements of what one person supports the most.
