Nintendo started a compaign against Flash Kits like M3 Real in Europe (France, Germany).

Their primary argument is: all Flash Kits contains a copyright Nintendo® Logo in the header. This Logo is shown when you turn on your DS with Flash Kit inside. Not the Nintendo DS Logo, but the Nintendo ® Logo below.

Nintendo claims, that this violate trademark laws. So these Flash Kit are not legal, they have stolen Nintendo Code in it.
If you look in France or Germany, many Shops do not offer Flash Kits anymore (e.g. Gamefreax.com)

Are here some technical freaks who can confirm that Nintendo copyrighted Code is on all Flash Kits? Some guys maked a backup of M3 Real and Supercard ONE (like you make a backup of a DS Game) - and they found in the header the same code like in Metroid Prime Demo.

Well, it seems that they re doing their best to stop pirating, but I don't think they can accomplish anything..

They will just spend money on campaign, but pirates will still pirate, no matter what!

nintendo will always need the hard core pirates just as much as the suckers that buy mainstream games.
if anything , this is a calculated PR move

Yeah I know, I really don't think they actually want to exterminate piracy completely, because, piracy sells hardware!!
But, they also need to keep control over it, so that piracy doesn't become too available for the "ordinary" man!

If you're looking from one point of view, you'll see that flashcarts actually sold quite a number of NDSs that probably wouldn't be sold if there isn't a way to pirate!
So on one hand, piracy sells hardware, but it's really bad for the software!

Meaning its the game develpers that lose more money, because they still need to pay Nintendo to develop games don't they?

Well, I don't know about that, but people are selfish anyway!

For now, this all thing with piracy is going pretty well.....But if flashcarts become even more popular, it could result in some major damage!

Yes, I do see what you're talking about Raven......I'm actually trying to keep NDS section as tidy as possible....but I have no powers over at Wii section, because I don't own Wii, and I don't know anything about it..

But there are some "massive noobs" waves lately..

If that were true, the DS would be in the same situation the PSP is in. Even though nintendo doesn't need pirates (nor does any other company) for every game pirated, there are probably 3 sold. All these shovelware games that we frown upon are quick and easy cash for such developers and has kept the system and software sales quite healthy.

please do not spam here. I want to figure out, if this is true that a copyrighted Nintendo Code or Logo is in every slot-1 Flash Card.

We're not spamming, we're discussing on the matter of flashcarts and Nintendo?!?! That's the title of the topic, isn't it?

And there are people who can check it for sure, but I don't know if they'll see this topic (especially if we stop posting in here!)
