Major update for Nintendo 3DS delayed until December 8, according to company statement.
Nintendo 3DS owners will have to wait a little longer to create their own 3D video and stop-motion masterpieces now that the much-anticipated system update has been pushed back a month.
Originally touted as a big November update for the handheld 3D gaming system, the update will now occur in December, according to an official announcement from Nintendo. But don’t worry, 3DS owners: it’s arriving in early December (if it isn’t delayed again).
“The upcoming Nintendo 3DS system update is in the final stages of internal testing and will be available by December 8,” reads an official statement on the company’s website. “We will provide an additional update once the system update is officially available.”
If/when the update arrives on December 8, the Nintendo 3DS will receive the ability to transfer large amounts of data between 3DS systems, as well as the aforementioned video-capture options. Users will be able to shoot up to 10 minutes of 3-D video using the 3DS, and create stop-motion video projects using the system’s camera.
The update will also include some new features for StreetPass, the social 3DS environment that allows your Mii to interact with others you’ve “met” via the program. There will also be a sequel to the “Find Mii” mini-game, too.
