I tried to install cfw on my old 3ds that was on firmware 10.5.0-30U. I used the 3ds.guide website and got to the point where I was installing luma3ds. I made it so that it would show NAND in system settings and then I saved and rebooted but then I got an error message that reads:

    An Exception occurred
    Processor: ARM11 (core 0)
    Exception type: data abort
    current process: menu (0004003000008F02)

Is there any way I can fix this or am I screwed. This happens every single time I turn on the 3ds and cant even enter recovery mode to get out of it. Please help it would be much appreciated.

Did you update your firmware? What version of Luma is installed?

I just got it to get me out of the exception occurred screen by deleting the config. I am back at the config. Is there any settings that I should check to help prevent this issue

Edit: I was able to get out of the exception occurred screen by getting a legacy version of luma boot.firm and then deleting config file to reinstall it.

Is there a specific legacy version you had used? I'm in a similar situation, any help would be appreciated.

The latest legacy build from https://astronautlevel2.github.io/Luma3DS/ should work.

I used the latest legacy build boot.firm and then went into the luma folder in my root card and deleted the config. When I booted I was now at the config screen of luma and pressed start and it finally worked put me in the home menu with cfw.

With the latest legacy build, is it safe for me to do a system update through the system settings???
