Venezuela is a tiny nothing burger of a country on the world stage - and their exports don't affect us either way

The role of sanctions is to isolate their economy with the goal of causing a weakened government that is more susceptible to regime change

This is not wholly altruistic either - if Maduro were friends with the US instead of Russia it wouldn't happen. But Venezuela is pals with our enemies so sanctions away
