I'm in the mood for some 3d games so give me your input on what are some of the best 3d engines you've seen on the DS thus far. I'll go with a few of my own favorites (good engine + good gameplay):

    Need For Speed Carbon
    Jet Impulse
    Mario64

I know MPH should be in the list, but I don't really like the game that much, the single player mode is very boring.

any Square Enix game looks fantastic. Final Fantasy III, Mario Basketball, Final Fantasy Chocobo Tales. They all look on par with the PSP.

MPH has a great 3D-engine. Imo the best on DS.

Thought Need For Speed games looked very basic to me.

Mario 64 still is the looker for the DS.

With a little optimization, the engine that ran Eragon DS could be used to make some nice games.

Square Enix knows what 3D is all about. Hadn't notice it was all Square Enix until you mentioned it.

I completely forgot about Square Enix! Yeah they're pretty good I must say.

Eragon looked great, played like crap.

Need for Speed Underground 2 was horrible, Carbon was quite good actually.

Hmm. Didn't like how they jammed all the stuff into the touch screen.

Second what everyone is saying about Mario Hoops 3-on-3. In the near future we'll also see great 3D in Dragon Quest IX and Final Fantasy: Crystal Chronicles.

I think the best 3d engines are made by Shin'en. The textures in those games are great.

Nanostray 1+2, Garfield`s Nightmare and Miss Spider are one of the best looking games on the DS thus far.

The upcoming Pet Alien is looking great, too.

hotel dusk has one of the nicest art styles, but the actual 3d world you walk around in is a bit washed out.

The best 3d game is easily Mario Hoops 3-on-3, shame it's not much fun after 20 minutes.
