QUOTE said:Since the announcement of Ni no Kuni over a year ago, Level-5 said that the RPG would be released for the DS along with another platform. This week's Famitsu reveals the second platform to be PlayStation 3.
According to the magazine, the PS3 version will recreate the atmosphere of a Studio Ghibli movie. And that's pretty much all we know at present.
The DS version of Ni no Kuni has gotten much of its attention for the involvement of animation powerhouse Studio Ghibli (Princess Mononoke, Kiki's Delivery Service) in its production. Level-5, developer of Professor Layton, White Knight Chronicles, and Dragon Quest IX, is also equipping the game with a 4 gigabit cartridge and a unique puzzle component that requires players to make use of a hardbound book that's included with every copy of the game.
Level-5 previously announced a Spring 2010 Japanese release period for the DS version and distributed a well-received demo at last year's Tokyo Game Show. Earlier this year, the DS version was delayed to Fall.
The PS3 version is listed in Famitsu as date TBA.
We're expecting to hear more details on Ni no Kuni later this week, so be sure and check back (say, at around Wednesday night Pacific time).

Odd, I never would've guessed the PS3. DS and PS3 exclusives don't come too often.
