In the news today, Square and Enix shareholders approved the planned merger between the two companies at a meeting in Tokyo. They are now ready to merge together, as planned by April 1st. They also have agreed on one name to call the merged companies, "Kabushikigaisha Square Enix," or Square Enix Corporation in English. The merger, announced last year when Square shareholder Masafumi Miyamoto publicly expressed opposition which he saw as unjustly biased to Enix shareholders. Final Fantasy X-2, which arrives in Japan March 13, this will probably be the last game to bear the Square name and logo (meaning the last game they ever make), while the last Enix game will be Dragon Quest Monsters: Caravan Heart, coming to the Game Boy Advance in Japan on March 29. We are set back and ready for what these two companies will have in store for us in the future.
