Telegames recently sent over its work-in-progress third-person adventure game, Radium, in development at Karma Studios.

This game is heading out for the GBA soon, its said the game will be shiping in this April.

Radium is mainly a action game where players control a character with an over-shoulder propective view. Early in the game players ecscape from a prison, with a "mission" to find a weapon which thy need to get past that certain area. Scientist and soldiers are on your tail chasing you constantly trying to blast you out!

The game utilizes a somewhat impressive 3D engine on the Game Boy Advance that allows for complex room geometry. The camera is completely dynamic, and when players trigger certain events, the camera will swoop around dramatically to show off different parts of the area. In some places, the camera will switch from over-the-shoulder to an independant, fixed position (a la Resident Evil).

When the action gets intense, though, the framerate in Radium tends to drop to a noticeably choppy level. And since players always control the character from behind, that character sprite blocks the player's view immediately in front of the sprite...which makes seeing and targetting enemies just a little on the annoying side. Hopefully Telegames and Karma Studios can iron out these issues before it ships this April.

Looks a little too ambitious for a GBA game. They should have made it for the DS.
