    Its been a long very quiet homebrew scene for the wii but anyways for those who still have a wii hooked up here is my wii homebrew entry aptly named "NewoSky" is available for download from wiibrew newo sky page or on my website (easier for me update).

    Let me know if it works and if you like it. Its pretty much a demo/walking simulator inspired by NMS.

    I was going to make it into some kind of tank game but I have yet to truly finish the rendering engine. It still stutters a bit (drops frames) in certain areas when there are lots of trees.

    I was able to get it to run in Dolphin without the asset folders so perhaps if you made a virtual SD card image for it you could record some videos, too.

    I have no idea how dolphin works or how to create a virtual SD card (I tested it on real hardware) but at least we know it runs! thanx for checking it out!

    I tested this some days ago, it's pretty original! Hope to see some new versions. Is there a way to slow down the running motion a bit? This reminded me of Rez, but in first person.

    There is menu option to make the you walk faster but I could always add in a slow walk option. How about half current speed?

    Yep, that would be cool! By the way, pressing B on the Gamecube controller brings some kind of planet map, but whether i hold or just press the button, it disappears fast. Is that intended? Haven't tested with Wiimote yet, that's why i ask.

    Extra question, will there be support for Wii U Pro Controller? Afaik if you already have Classic Controller support, it would only be a matter of recompiling with the latest libogc.

    I designed it to work mainly with the wiimote horizontal but the code for the other controllers is partially test so I might I have missed a button state. Will check it and fix it with a update.

    The planet map is supposed to stay open so that you can move to a different planet. If the button doesnt work you can always try the auto planet option in the menu. It will switch planets every 15 seconds.

    Classic controller support is already in there but I was not compiling on the latest version of libogc. So I updated my #devkitpro libogc and grrlib to the latest versions. compile time was 8. now 25 seconds. ☹️ There is also a bug with the screenshot option in the menu (its taking the screen shot but not changing to "yes"). but I will post a version 1.1 update next week or so.

    Nice! Just curious, will any future version offer the possibility for a custom soundtrack? (via various MP3 / OGG files).

    Yeah i got one comment saying that the music was kinda dreary and desolate but you are in luck! the current version loads an mp3 from the assets/ folder. just replace the file called "bg_music.mp3" with another mp3 file of the same name. note however that big files with high bitrate will cause the game to drop frames. so down sample the bitrate of the file if that happens (probably 44hz).

    Oh! Great to hear =D. Is there a maximum bitrate recommended, like 128kbps?

    I would say the smaller the better (current mp3 file is 44khz) but I think it will play any mp3 you put in there

    Well Bounty results are in and NS came in #5 so now its time to work on the 1.1 update. fixing bugs and messing with the draw distance, planet layout and new sky city.
    These are the updates I am working on;
    * slow and slower walk speed
    * fixed timing bug in screenshot option
    * prevent the auto planet option from reselecting the same planet
    * maintain momentum during planet to ground switch
    * added a submenu for the auto walk/planet time
    * fixed gamecube controller b button
    * update to devkitpro PPC_r29-1
    * update to GRRLIB 4.3.2
