Hi just got a NDS for one of my kids and a GBA SP for another. I am looking for the simplest flashing hardware and operating system for kids to use. The NDS I would like to use GBA and NDS stuff, a media player would be nice but not essential. Any suggestions guys.

Well, if you plan on playing GBA roms, you'll have to buy a slot-2 flashcart.
For the NDS, I suggest the M3 Lite for your DS (You'll also need a 9url=http://www.realhotstuff.com/m3-passcard3-p-81.html]Passme type device[/url]) and the M3 SD for your GBA (on the same page as the previous hyperlink).

If you need any thing else, feel free to PM me - but you'll find all various guides to setting up/using M3 Lites of them on GBAtemp and other websites on the internet.

Thanks for quick reply JPH. Sure, I will have no probs setting up with the guides from this forum(great site BTW). Just needed some guidance on which hardware to start with as there seem to be so many.

Cheers

If you want basic gameplay for kids and none of the complicated stuff then just get a slot 1 as in my opinion slot 2 cards tend to turn people off with patching software. You can try the EZ Flash V plus it's GBA expansion and that will let you play GBA games and NDS games just by drag and dropping the game to the micro SD card. How easy is that? lol Literally takes 2 seconds.

I'd advise you buy a CycloDS Evolution for the DS games, as it is ridiculously easy to set up and the kids will be able to use it fine. It's a little more expensive than other options, but they have a fantastic support forum, and they update the card fairly frequently to stay ahead of the other flash carts.

Since you're in Australia, I advise you buy the Cyclo from www.ozmodchips.com. They have fantastic service and will send out the product very quickly. It's where I got mine from.

As for GBA, the cheapest option to go with the CycloDS would be the EZ 3-in-1, but that could be a bit tricky for the kids to use. How old are they?

They are eight years old. I can load them up. They will only have to use the menu system. One of them is disabled(autistic) and I don't want her to be able to have access to settings which may cause damage - this is for the gameboy advance only.
