If it's 10x more powerful it's gone cost double of the previous console(not sure thinking realistically)
I disagree. I don't want the next Xbox to have the power of an NES.godreborn said:if people r so concerned with raw power, they should just change to pc gaming. only an idiot would be looking for such things on a console.
In that case it would make sense to care about raw power as PC ports wouldn't have to be downgraded.godreborn said:my point is that sony tried to claim that the ps3 was future proof and a lot of fanboys blindly believed it. in reality, the ps3 was outdated when it was released. pc ports on both the 360 and ps3 have to be downgraded significantly just to work.
Except people can't play Uncharted on the PC.godreborn said:if people r so concerned with raw power, they should just change to pc gaming. only an idiot would be looking for such things on a console.

And people want their Uncharted to look pretty.
The graphics card I just bought a few days ago has 800 cores.Schlupi said:Maybe the PS3 will be able to play Crysis 4 when it comes out, whist is PC users will be laughed at for our pitiful Minecraft running 4 core CPUs.
Think relaistically, many people used ps+ to buy games that cost money, and addons for their free games, plus cost is in their minds i doubt it will cost over $300(least amount of gbs)shinkukage09 said:I call major bullshit. If Sony only recently managed to stop losing money on the PS3 after 4 years of it...there's no way they can make something 10x as strong without it costing $1000 or more.
Mine has 1600 cores.Rydian said:Forgot this earlier...

(Seriously, video cards work differently to CPUs.)
Well not directly, but in some cases it does rely on it.tigris said:Power=/= Gameplay.
That is all.

I trust that article more. Nintendo has taught the industry that the winner is not necessarily the one who can push the most polygons, and I believe the entire next generation is going to reflect that.
