Amazon Germany just couldn't keep a secret. Microsoft's just announced that a shiny new Xbox 360 Arcade replacement -- with 4GB internal flash memory, a matte finish, and built-in 802.11n WiFi -- will be shipping August 3rd for $199.99. A stark difference in capacity to the current 250GB model, but at least it's cheaper. Looking ahead to November, the standalone Kinect, it's coming for (yeah, you guessed it) $149.99 with Kinect Adventures. Act surprised, Microsoft would really like you to. As for the pièce de résistance -- that'd be the 4GB console, Kinect sensor, and game -- that's due out "this holiday" for $299.99. Press release after the break, pretty pictures just below.

Update: Looks like the Britons will be paying £129.99 for Kinect.[/p]

I need to buy myself a 360 anyway, this seems like a moderately good deal, considering I never use DLC anyway.

Is this REALLY the image that Microsoft want to be pushing? They're trying too hard with this casual market that'll inevitably fail for too high of a price point, and too late in the game.

Info already posted in here, unless we need a more focused news post.

When I earn some money I might pick up the the 250GB slim, seeing as i don't have a 360. Could be a while though.

Not quite. there is A HDD transfer cable that you can use to send the data from one to another but apart from that, there is no way to use your old data. The plus side is that some retailers (in Australia at least) will allow you to take home your HDD with you to transfer the data across as long as you bring it back the next day.

Unfortunately, like Guild said, he beat you to the punch.
