Okay, so I'm going to be adding the Homebrew Channel to my Wii. However, a friend of mine, who has the HBC, said that his wifi will not work now because he has it. Is this true about the wii? Will I lose my access to my online play?

Also, where would I obtain a LoZ:TP save to activate the hack?

Thanks a ton!

just about everybody on this forum has the HBC and i can tell you i have no issues with doing anything online related with my wii(playing games, opera browser, downgrading...)

everyone will agree with me

might be your buddy's internet/router causing the issue or if he has GC controller or mem card inserted that could cause a problem maybe(not sure but maybe?) but not the HBC

No, what he means is once you turn off WiiConnect24 to stop the Nintendo updates, the Weather and News Channels stop communicating. The Internet browser and online play still works. I may be wrong about the online play.

the LoZ:TP is availabe at a store or a rental shop. I'd rent it since thats all ya need it for.

Okay, good to hear. I wouldn't want to disable anything though. Is this just an option it gives? He told me his wifi wouldn't work because he had the homebrew channel. I just don't want that fate, haha.

Some people decided to disable their WiiConnect24 out of fear of nintendo committing the atrocity that would be auto-updating your wii without you consent.

It caused alot of paranoia, but it's been concluded that it shouldn't happen EVEN if you have firmware 3.4

the only way i see the HBC being the problem for your friend is if it didn't install properly, tell him/her to delete it using anytitle deleter the channel is called (HAXX) and reinstall using twilight hack... might solve their problem

or wait for a better answer/explanation

his friend disable WC24 because if you have a problem during the installation on wiibrew.org says you should first disable it, but when you are done you can enable it back, tell your friend to stop smoking that thing if he can't handle it, and what you are looking for is called the Twilight Hack, go to wiibrew.org for more information, please before someone here start asking your friend's address...!!!
