Sorry deanxxczx, you can go from 5.03 OFW to 5.00 M33-6 it is no problem at all.
As you read in the tutorial I pasted above.

This thread is going from bad to worse. Evilmaster they're talking about using the 5.03 Hen to avoid the purchase of a Pandora or a hardmod NOT a temporary firmware.

deanxxczx - you're wrong. Chickhen only runs off 5.03. You simply misremember.

spinal_cord - Update to 5.03 OFW, get Davee's ChickHen R2 from the site i linked to back on the first page (his devsite). Also grab Hellcats' recovery flasher and the 5.00 OFW eboot. Follow the instructions in the readme's.

Install 5.00 M33-6 via 5.03 ChickHEN without pandora.

My post exactly tells how to downgrade without pandora.
Is there anything personal that bothers you?
Lets cut this out, let the people read what to do and lets reply to their questions.

The thing I wrote was: 100x owners do not need to check their motherboard type using PSP on the 5.03 ChickHEN.
As all 100x models take full CFW.

You're the one who started this, as you did in the other locked thread. You originally misinterpreted the topic because you yourself hadn't read it. You then post that modified guide taken from PSP slimhacks. My reply above was only incited by the derisory "Perhaps you should read it" quip when you new full well what my post referenced and was hoping that i didn't. Vistabuser you're not exactly doing yourself many favours.

spinal_cord much of the above is unnecessary...PSPIdent is redundant for a phat CFW installation. Simply update to 5.03 OFW, try to get ChickHen to run (it's erratic) and then use the Recovery Flasher to install 5.00M33-4. Then grab the 5.00M33-6 update and you're done.

Edit...not you dean...you posted whilst i was writing. However i always advise to double check your info.

Latest version of Recovery Flasher (1.60) can install 5.00 m33-6.

If you're still confused, check the tutorials section of the psp-hacks.com forums. The "hack your psp mega thread" helped me a lot.

Spinal I believe it would be best if you could just read the tutorials down at pspslimhacks.com. Read the one about using chickhen with official firmware 5.03 and you should be good to go. It only took me about 15 minutes to do and get the custom firmware running on it with theyre help.

Do you have the 500.PBP file in your folder:
ms0\PSP\GAME\RECOVERY\

Without it problems will for sure come up.

I do have the 500.PBP in the recovery folder...

First try an alternative 5.00.PBP - that error can come about due to a bad firmware eboot amongst other things.

Along with emulators, One of my favorite homebrews is Quake 1 w/ modified Kurrok engine.

Turn on your PSP.

Press: Sellect, and set your UMD driver to: M33.
That should fix it.
