The only change is replacing Goomba with Jagoomba anyway, which is a 'feature' SimpleDE already had. So yeah, changing the number would be more than enough, if it was actually even needed.
yeah it probably wasn't all too needed but the alert that "hey you need to update your fpga firm" was probably a good call anyway so that people don't say that this kernel has issues long resolvedThe only change is replacing Goomba with Jagoomba anyway, which is a 'feature' SimpleDE already had. I bougth a ez flash omega definitive edition, i tried to play metroid zero mission, when i make a save state and try to load it, the game Start to make an annoying sound like a whistle, i have a sd of 2gb in fat, then i formated in fat32, it didn't solve the problem after that i change de sdcard to 16gb in fat32 cluster 32kb and the same problem persists, then i installed the cfw of stereophonick and nothing happen, how can i solve the problem?
all an update would do here is change a number since i don't have the ROM space to include the FPGA firmware in SimpleDE. it's a load of crap, i know. but i'll get that out and swapped here when i get a chance

Update v1.5 (Definitive Edition ONLY):
- Reworked internal logic for detecting FW updates. Still cannot update from Simple. The kernel still instructs you to update with the official kernel.
Simple will tell you to update if your cartridge is:
- Rev A (LX9): Below firmware 5
- Rev B (LX16): Below firmware 7
Original Omega users do not need to update.
Lemme know if your cartridge erroneously is/isn't telling you to update, because I do not have a Rev B cartridge. This new logic does not write to the FPGA so there's no risk of bricking.
Thanks for the update! I have a Rev B and confirm it works:
Idon't believe simple light or simpleDE have been updated yetSo what's the procedure with Rev B? Update using the newly released stock firmware and then reapply the last build of Simple that Stero posted?
Thanks @Sterophonick. I'll like to have a look at the code of the kernel, I've never done embedded C (on any kind of C that ends up running on a device that's not a full-fledged CPU) so I'm really curious.Correct. Use the official kernel to update the firmware and then reapply my kernel

Oh, that's lovely then!
Did some trial and error while I waited for an answer and the No-Intro compliant rom works. Perhaps a warning should be added to the TXT file of the latest release or at least some note of caution about the quality of the roms ? Also just curious, why isn't the latest version on the release page of the github ?When I try to boot Pokemon Crystal it gives me the warning that I need to do it on a Gameboy Color and the game isn't compatible. I installed the firmware all the while following the instructions so I do not understand why this doesn't work.
Flashcart used: EZ-FLASH Omega Definitive Edition
Firmware 7, Kernel 1.05, Sterophonick's Simple DE v1.5

I was having trouble saving in Pokémon Yellow. I would save ingame, wait ten seconds and then create a savestate, wait ten more seconds and the L+R > exit and then shutdown the GBA but at least two out of three times the saves would be gone and I would end up losing hours of progress
So I did the EZ-Flash Omega SD activity LED mod and I have noticed that the LED only flashes and signals for SD Card activity when I save/load a savestate and when booting the game. When I save ingame the LED doesn't flash even if I wait more than ten seconds. Is this because when playing GB/GBC games it isn't saving directly to the SD but rather saving "inside" the emulator? Does it make sense?
I also read here in another thread that with Jagoomba, even after waiting ten seconds after saving doing L+R > exit instead of rebooting the GBA causes the saves to become corrupt, both savestate and regular save. I found this to be true, after stopping doing L+R > exit when saving, I haven't lost the saves.
The question here is what is the best method to decrease the risk of losing saves?
A) Savestate, wait for LED, save ingame, wait ten seconds, turn off GBA.
B) Save ingame, wait ten seconds, savestate, wait for LED, turn off GBA.
Also @Sterophonick, how does the save backup feature works exactly? I noticed that when my saves get corrupted, I only have the saves from the evening the day before. It goes like this:
I play a little bit in the morning before work, save and shutdown, come back to play before lunch break ends and I notice the saves are gone. I go backup them from the backup folder and the saves are from the day before. Does this mean it backups the saves at boot? With this I can only conclude that after saving either via A) or B), another step is needed which is turn on the console, wait for LED to stop flashing and then turn off?
Sorry for the long post but I'm new-ish to this gameboy and pokémon and etc things. I might not be finding out anything new
download this --> https://gbatemp.net/attachments/simplede-zip.456256/Where can i download the theme of simple de for kernel 1.5 fw 7? Please i am noob on the scene, i update the kernel and fw, when i load a save state of metroid zero mission and fusión apart of the whistle now i get a black screen please ez flash Team solve that problem i have a ez flash omega definitive edition rev b
Can confirm this works well. Save, press L+R wait for activity LED and shut down.I read your steps and you should press L+R once before finally shutting down, do nothing else, wait a few seconds and shut down directly.
