If you want to use a hardmod, you can, but we don't yet know if Fusee Gelee has been made harder to execute on 5.0.2, so I would wait until we have more info.

    You're kidding, right?
Geez guys, how many times this should be told - Fusee Gelee is a BOOTROM bug, it executes BEFORE dat frickin HOS, and has NOTHING TO DO with current version of it.
Think of it as B9S and cut this "hold on" crap already. For all of you currently on 5.0.0-5.0.1 - feel free to update and enjoy online features.

Ok Einstein and does the bootrom exploit magically install itself? Or do you actually need a point of entry which may well depend on HOS version?

Through hardmod, obviously. Nobody ever stated any solid entrypoints on systems >4.1.0.
And believe me, no one will bother fighting KASLR when hardmod option presents. Not until mariko surfaces.

I doubt many people are going to buy a 5.0 switch and then sit on it hoping for homebrew.

So if we go all the "aluhead" way: first Nintendo breaks stuff with motion controls and then fixes it to make people update?

    Right, sometimes stability inadvertently de-intensifies.

The Switch I got yesterday was already on 4.1.0 out of the box. Most of the Mariko rev. are almost certainly be 5.x, if not all of them.

What's with the bitching in this thread?

You guys should look up how version numbers work.
    Major change, minor change, etc.

Did you really expect any visible changes from a less-than-minor version change?

I have 3.0.2 on mine, I'm fine I have Mario odyssey and xenoblade chronicles 2 no reason to update.

As normal numbering should work that way I am 100% agreeing with you :).
However, Switch, Nintendo does not really care what number announces what option.
