I can run trucha bugged disc from DC, it's just these TB discs that need other IOSes like ios53 to run.
I'll try installing the TBRed IOS53 and see what happens.

The fact is that having installed preloader 0.28 I read somewhere that it changes the address of system menu and can't find the new HBC so I didn't upgrade and didn't install bootmii.
Is it that right or can I upgrade with no problem with the hackmii installer?

First of all, yes, if you can booth trucha discs from DC but not NSMB then you do need to patch IOS53. It should be perfectly safe to do it with DOP-Ios Mod, because even if it fails you can do it again as it won't brick you, since it is not used by the system menu or anything.

As for preloader, I don't know much about it. But having it would make your messing around with IOSes safer, as you will always be able to go back directly to DOP-Ios if something is messed up. I heard there are newer versions that can deal with the new HBC, but I really don't know much about it, like I said.

I have a 3.2 hard modded and stayed back on the 3.2 fw because of the trucha bug-ios: do I need to patch the same IOS30?
Can I do the same steps as above for the IOS53?

Correct, if your on 3.2, you shouldn't have to patch your system menu IOS, but yes you still need to patch IOS53.

Okay. When PainToad said you shouldn't have to patch it, he said that because you have a hard mod/chip. This chip should load games, but it wont load all games. This is where you'll need to tucha sign IOS30.

And trucha signing IOS53 should/will get NSBMW up an running.

I have tried everything said here but still couldn't get it to work, here is what I have

- PAL Wii + Wiikey v1 + official 4.1E firmware, no modded IOS or cIos
-scrubbed + fixed game
-Installed latest bootmii and hbc


Tried using the Neogamma R8b7 method: "DVD Read Err (1224) No cIOS" when I try to launch the DVD

GeckoOS method doesn't work because it requires untouched version

IOS53 and IOS60 with DOP-IOS Mod: launch DOP-IOS Mod, "which IOS would like to use to install other IOSes ?" I select the default IOS60, I then select to install IOS53 or IOS60 I accept both questions, it starts to download but errors: Content 1/14...... Done , "Hash BAD" and returns to HBC. I start again select IOS36 to be used for install, select install IOS53 or IOS60, all files are downloaded successfully, BUT when it tries to install I says error ES_AddContentStart(00000001000035, 0) failed: -1017, install returned -1

Does anyone have this working with CIOS Rev 9? I'm using USB Loader GX. I have the patched ISO. The game loads, I see the story, I can play the first level, but if I pause the game, go down a pipe, or get to the end of the level, it freezes. I'm thinking I may need to update to a later CIOS. I had problems with rev10, and every rev afterward had some bug that made me not want to update. I have never had a problem with rev9, so went back to it.

I'm not sure what else to try.

go ahead and update to rev14 and use a loader like gx or cfg. Rev14 in combination with Hermes' IOS222/223 makes for the best compatibility.

I installed 222/223, and I upgraded to rev14. I can now pause the game, and enter a pipe, but as soon as I reach the flagpole at the end of the first level, the game freezes. Does anyone have any other ideas. I think I've read this entire thread + multiple searches online. I may try to download another ISO...I'm not sure where to go from here.

thanks for putting me in the right direction, I had to do the Trucha bug restorer thing before being able to install the cIOS. now my console is soft and hard modded

I ran DOP IOS and selected IOS249 and installed.
I then went to IOS53 and installed v5149 is that correct?
I also went to IOS60 but it says my current is v6174.
Can someone please explain how i trunch sign these as i thought it was done using DOP IOS?

IOS53 v5406

IOS60 v6174 for 4.0/4.1.

IOS70 for 4.2.

Once it's selected it will ask if you want to install it, then ask if you want to hash/trucha sign it.

I'm trying to load from my USB HDD for the first time. It should be compatible (Western Digital Passport 320GB). I've updated my cIOS, I partitioned the drive (only set ~1GB for the WBFS partition), formatted to WBFS and installed fine... Yet when I go into NeoGamma and try to mount the drive it just retries over and over and gives up (no error message). The only thing is I don't think I have the latest IOS53 (can't find it, cIOScorp download is dead).

Is it possible the IOS53 is holding me up, or is it likely another problem?

edit - oh yea, using the top slot on the USB on the back as well.

OK, tried Wiiflow and the bottom slot and it's working, so yay! Once again no help needed (for now).

You can use any IOS with the trucha bug in it, be that an older IOS (or one that had it restored) i.e. 36 or a c(ustom)IOS since all cIOSes contain the trucha bug and I would suggest using one of those if you have one installed.

so i uninstalled IOS60 and reinstalled it and applied sig hash check and nsmb does still not run properly from the disc channel.
Any other ideas?

I bricked a friends wii when he asked to uninstalling IOS60 the system meny 6 months ago.
Lucky you installed it again before turning of the console!
Otherwise it would be unbrickable!
