Hacking New Super Mario Bros. Wii

So I finally caved in to sofmodding my hardmodded wii.

I have PAL Wii with YAOSM chip and system menu v3.4E.

I installed bootmii and the homebrew channel using hackmii. I didn't update to 4.2, I'm still on 3.4E.

Now I can play from DVD the original unpatched and scrubbed NSMB using neogamma R8b7.

When I started neogamma it told me that I do not have IOS249 (I think). I ignored the message and started the game anyway.

i have a softmodded wii and the way i got it to work was to put it on a USB stick and use cfg loader, plus with the smnp01.gct cheat file.

its working perfectly

Does anyone have this working with CIOS Rev 9? I'm using USB Loader GX. I have the patched ISO. The game loads, I see the story, I can play the first level, but if I pause the game, go down a pipe, or get to the end of the level, it freezes. I'm thinking I may need to update to a later CIOS. I had problems with rev10, and every rev afterward had some bug that made me not want to update. I have never had a problem with rev9, so went back to it.

I'm not sure what else to try.

exactly, i'm just waiting for a fix for softmod. i don't have access to usb loader or any of that, so i just have to sit this one out until a fix is produced, which i hope happens soon as this wait is killing me.

go ahead and update to rev14 and use a loader like gx or cfg. Rev14 in combination with Hermes' IOS222/223 makes for the best compatibility.

Cios rev 14

USB Loader GX rev 800 something

Hermes cios 222

usb loader gx settings:

used iso 222

error 002 : on

force NTSC

i used a patched version of the game.

hi everyone

i got problems with new super mario bros wii, the wii freezes

i have a Pal softmodded wii with 4.1E
Cioscorp 3.4
Ciosrev14
Configurable usb loader
patched iso from NSMB
2gb usb stick

i can play the game for a few minutes and the the whole wii freeze(no DRE from game)
and somtimes the game wont start from configurable usb loader (wii freezed directly)

have someone an solution how i can play without freezing my wii??

-Tried GeckoOS, and this Cheat File Place it under /codes/, and activate Ocarina in GeckoOS

There's a few warez sites and torrents here and there that have the ISO scubbed and pre-patched. It's what I downloaded, personally, worked just fine after fiddling with Neogamma. I'm not at liberty to discuss my source as I would then be violating the forum rules.

Well, I've heard some people say they've gotten it to work with CFG USB Loader. Personally, I'm unfamiliar with this and would be unable to assist you. Though I do it would be possible through methods of formatting your SD card to WBFS (Or at least a 400 MB or so partition), and using something like Neogamma to run a patched version of NSMBWii

Adding games to the USB drive would not affect that. Or shouldn't. Perhaps some settings were used with your loader the last time you played that have to be manually set this time too?

I only get green screen using gecko, & dre using the disc channel.
What shall I do to make the disc working?
I have a D2CKEY modchip installed.
I used brickblocker even though it was pal, because of never update through Nintendo
