I hate these piracy polls. Can we just lock them when they come up? They're so pointless and just become a fight between "YOU PEOPLE ARE FUCKING THEIVES WITH NO MORALS" and "PIRACY ISN'T STEALING IT'S COPYING".

Piracy is as much a part of the internet as Google and porn. Anyone who pirates something doesn't regret it. Anyone whose against piracy can't stop it. It's a simple fact that will exist for many years to come unless some incredibly drastic internet regulation comes, which even then people will get around.

well, i hate paying for thingz, so " pirateing " is the way to got. it can be argued if what were all doing here is rlly pirateing, but eather way, the 30 dollarz for ds games is BULL SHIT, i do som REAL pirateing outside of the gba network, but eather way, its evolved from a simple way to get thingz free, to a burning passion inside of me, to modd everything in sight, and to see if i can beat all the big corporationz.

i wouldn't be able to sleep at night knowing i stoll a game from someones house, but i could easily do it, if i stoll from nintendo. theirz a difference their, i couldn't steal from someone personaly, but i have no problom when its from a big corrporation

i used to buy my ds games. when i bought a flashcart, i stopped buying them. however, to be completely honest, had flashcarts never existed, i would have only ever bought roughly two more games (chrono trigger and gta). come to think of it, gta was the last ds game i pirated.

besides being cheap, let me tell you the main reasons why i pirate:
- activision is getting greedy with all the gh games they keep bringing out, so i pirate them just to smite them
- australia gets games WAY too late (though not as bad as korea i must say)
- people in game stores are useless and dont know shit about games
- im sick of wasting time finding games
(srsly, i honestly tried to find chrono trigger in stores and the store people were like "duhhh... we dont have crado tronger, but we have dogz, catz and venuz fly trapz)

I download all my games before I'll buy them. It's essentially a cheaper way to rent. In fact, downloading games has made a few developers some money from me that they otherwise wouldn't have gotten. There are several games that I've downloaded on a whim, that I didn't really think would turn out to be good, that I ended up enjoying enough to buy. If my only options for trying those games out were renting or purchasing, I never would have played them at all.

I also download games from other regions that aren't out here (US). If I like the game, I'll buy the US version on release (ie: Little King's Story, whoooo), but I will NOT buy an import of a game that will never be released in the States. If that decision's already been made, then I'm not financially hurting ANYbody, as the publisher has already decided that the game isn't meant for me anyway.

Free better than pay. I download because I can. Don't really care what anyone thinks about that.

I don't buy any games (except for retro, Metal Gear series and console-exclusive PS3 games) Now if I had to buy every single game I would want to play I couldn't afford my Wii, PS3, Xbox 360, Nintendo DS Lite, Sony PSP and other stuff such as clothes etc. Last PC game I bought was Doom 3 Collectors Edition when it came out only because I played Doom 1 and 2 plus the expansions to death for over 10 years ago. Last console game I bought was Metal Gear Solid 4 when it came out. Yeah I'm a cheap bastard but a smart one.

You left out the option "I dont pirate". Yes, I may be the only user of this site who could have honestly selected that, but it'd still be nice to be given the option of doing so.

I pirate things to avoid crippling DRM restrictions and spyware infecting my machine. Pirated copies of most games are superior to their retail counterparts in almost every way.

why the F*%$ are you asking us this. I hate polls that ask about piracy... What's wrong with you... Go ahead and join a forum all about roms. Then make this poll and tell us what the results were...

Oh and this because I don't like spending a lot on games. They are freakin' virtual things. Why do we spend our money on virtual things? They won't last for a life time (even if you take care of it so don't go here), since they will be outdated. What's the point of keeping these kind of things...

When you buy something, you usually buy it for the sake of having it. I think that is enough...

I would buy the games if I could get them for their original value. But the importers who distribute the games here cheat us and and adds about 50-100$ extra charge on the game! That's just bullshit

.So,I have to resort to piracy!!!

I do buy games online but not too frequently since I dont have a credit card.
IMHO,it's not eh pirates,it's the stupid arrogant and greedy distributers that cheat people of their money that's destroying the gaming industry!

agreed, they always cheat on us here in the middle east when it comes to videogames

....and now piracy is a common thing here.

More or less, I like to play video games. Don't we all? However, I'm on an extremely tight budget (living off of a student loan while I go to college), and like most people, I have to spend my money on more important stuff than games. Therefore, I go to the easiest method possible to get new games - piracy. Sure, if games were cheaper (let's think $10 a game), then I would buy all my games, no problem. But no, games are ridiculously priced, so here I am.
I am Skyline969, and I am a pirate.

If I had to pay for it, I wouldn't buy it.

So why not download? Nothing really missed.
