I've watched the video, but there are 2 errors:

    - Your post was claiming that Pokemon Sun & Moon had better graphical capability than Sword & Shield. This video seems to be comparing a Pokemon game on... it looks like the Wii, with my attempt at deciphering the controls that appear on screen.

    - You have shown a comparison, I see, but there's no absolute technical description of how it is objectively graphically inferior.

I never said that Sun and Moon had better graphics, I just said that there was little to no innovation. And if you can't see how BR has better graphics than SS in the video I provided then you really should get your eyes checked

Ah, yes, true. You said they are hardly a step up from Sun and Moon.

However, that statement, along with the "get your eyes checked" aren't the absolute technical description required to make an objective comparison. Can you please provide me with all the technical reasons the graphics are inferior to the SS you supplied in the video?

Counterpoint; so you're comparing an "open world-esque" main series RPG, to an arena fighter? Do you not understand how this thing works? Of course a game that has much "less" to display at a single time looks better. Devs could dump all of their resources into that one single "scene". Granted, I haven't played the game, but it's like comparing a fully open world game to Hellblade. Of course Hellblade is going to look better. It's a linear game, with a more compact area to work with. Also, the style of game is completely different as well. So no, I really don't think Battle Revolution looks better, even so. They're two different styles for two different games. One has a lot more to render at a time, whereas another has a lot less it has to render, due to the fact that it's such a closed environment you're working with at a time.

You didn't give me proof, you've given me silly reasons to hate on a game that isn't even out yet. Your "proof" is akin to hating on fortnite because "that one piece of wood has a crummy texture in that one video". Your "points" aren't proof, and they're ridiculous. Your opinion isn't a valid and actual opinion... it's literally you trying to hate on this game, just to hate, because you're cranky over the national dex mishap. You're projecting. You're frustrated over one thing, and you're actively looking for reasons to further hate it, because of your anger toward that one aspect. It's literally an immature and psychological term... I just can't place my finger on what it's called right now... But your "opinion" is unjustified, and you're projecting your hatred, where you can, based upon one little thing missing from the game. You're taking that one thing, and you're looking for other aspects of the game to take that anger out on, or to hate, because you're cranky over another aspect of it. It's childish.

I've heard often that the Yu-Gi-Oh games are best of the class.

Let's not forget that all of the data for existing moves, items, and Pokémon already exist. And Let's Go reused models from the 3DS games (yes, there are videos on YouTube importing the models into rendering software and they're identical), so there's no reason to assume Sword and Shield won't reuse assets where they can. All they have to do is retexture the assets. Which is a lot less work than making a brand new 3D model.

The Wii is a VASTLY weaker console than the switch. The Switch is MANY times stronger than the Wii. There is no reason GF should claim they are cutting Pokemon for "higher quality animations" when most of the animations we have seen are ported from the 3DS. Also, the "IT'S JUST A FIGHTING GAME" argument is probably the dumbest arguments I've ever read, not only is the Wii over a decade older than the switch but it is much stronger too, but since you want to be that way let's take a look at Pokemon Colosseum. Even that game has better animations than SS and it had a fully 3D story mode too.

And i don't agree with the excuse theyre using. However i dont agree that its "laziness" either. I think to aasume either is ignorant. Also, again, youre comparing different games. Id work on your logic prior to trying to make a point. I think theres far more to the story than any of us know.

I don't have to go run in front of a double decker bus to know that it would not be a good time for me. By your own logic, that's what you should be doing before someone's allowed to form an opinion on how much a vehicular accident hurts. :shit:

There's plenty of legit reasons to hate Fortnite, too, since you want to go there:
    1. EGS on PC basically guarantees an identity theft incident, given that Tencent has a sizable controlling portion/stake in Epic Games, and Tencent has well known ties to the Chinese government. Do not the blatant cover-up and repeat offenses to human rights in the country not concern you? Of course not, you trying to be holier than thou on this threat and insulting people for a different opinion. You're too busy worrying about getting stabbed, seeing as that's the running crime stereotype in the UK, where your profile implies you're from.
    2. Epic Games promised a strong single player component for people that paid $40~ or so when the game launched... yet dropped it because everyone was playing the multiplayer and giving in to the predatory loot boxes. Which of themselves are glorified gambling, but your precious Parliament got their TRIPLE AYYYYYYYYYY campaign contributions and thus ruled that they weren't. Yeah, shut your $2 pc off before I verbally smack you again.
    3. Epic's runaway success over PUBG with Fortnite has in itself created a knock-on effect for wholesale monetization sodomy in paid-for games; Overwatch laid the groundwork and fortnite ran away with it.
    4. Did you conveniently forget how Sony basically held accounts hostage if you ever played the game on the PS4? Or how much of a stink was made until Sony barely caved in to finally allow cross play? The way you type on here, you clearly don't, so I'm reminding your ignorant ass.
    5. Epic Game Store launcher is a 2019 storefront without even the most basic shopping cart system. And before you cry "but they didn't have the years of development like steam did" ... first of all, yes, I'd be talking out my ass if I didn't recognize how much Steam improved from its hey-day back before Half Life 2 launched. but Steam upped the game so much, that the market and the standards have since changed. It's akin to if Nintendo released Star Fox 2 as a native Nintendo Switch title, without indicating it was a virtual console release or anything and trying to say "that's the new star fox". It doesn't work that way, you imbecile. And it pains me to say this, because I had so much respect for Epic Games as a developer, back even when Apple was still on PowerPC for their Macintosh line. Back even before the Athlon64 was a thing in AMD's eye, let alone in anyone's hands. They went from creating a masterpiece build of UT2004 for the G4/G5 cpu's that embarrassed what the x86 platform had on PC, and later the amazing playable tech demo of Unreal Tourney 3 on PS3, to shilling for lootboxes and shooting out a malware-laden launcher with lax security and suspicious behaviors this side of EA's Origin.
Much of the same could be said for the Call of Duty franchise in general, especially with Bobby Kotick's attempt (in my cynicism) to basically erase all the search results talking about how OG CoD4 was such a high point in the franchise by re-re-booting it again as Call of Duty Modern Warfare. As gorgeous as the trailer footage looked, Bobby Kotick's history, and Activision's history in business behaviors, give me every reason to pause for concern and not support such an endeavor.

Back to the topic of this thread, finally...

By all accounts, the Nintendo Switch should be showcasing much better than this from Game Freak. And the 3DS game carts for Ultra Sun and Ultra Moon also don't take up nearly the same amount of data, but still look good as they do, so from where I personally am sitting and viewing the footage, I'm not convinced that GF's efforts justify anything resembling a purchase from me. And the news of the omissions hit hard for me, personally. It's something I'm going to object to until either a new mid-gen refresh game comes out that fixes it all (most likely) or GF actually releases a post-game update that restores what's been lost (possible, but less likely).

When I first saw the trailer for Sword/Shield and the Dynamax feature, I already had in mind one thing I wanted to do in such a situation... Take my beloved Incineroar, Dynamax, and unleash Malicious Moonsault, and just be in awe at the spectacle of it all as they come down with an explosion that would be seen from space, most likely. :rofl2: But no, only after I posted that as my reaction did I find out that Dynamax was coming at the expense of Z-Moves and Mega's, not in addition to. It's bad enough that they (Game Freak) routinely cut out favored features (such as having your pokemon/entourage traveling with you) from one game to the next. But to remove this, and not even knowing how much of the National Dex cast is lost? That hurts. And if you still want to relent that this is somehow okay, then that's just showing you haven't actually built or bonded with a team all the way through, because even though the tag line is gotta catch 'em all, being able to complete the journey with your favorites is what makes a pokemon game worth playing. And it's taken me a LONG time since the likes of Gen 1 (and to a lesser extent, Gen 3) to be able to say I did that again. :gba:

It hit hard for me too. My favorite thing about Pokemon is being able to play Pokemon Ruby, a game that released in 2002, and bring my team all the way to the Nintendo 3DS. I have many teams I have played with throughout the years and if I can't bring them to Galar, then I can't bring myself to pay $60 for a Pokemon game.... that cuts Pokemon

Darn, I can't come up with something edgy
Yes and anthem looked great... And then it was shit. People have the right to criticize. A lot of the criticism is fair game. Also people have the right to also criticize what the producer has said. Which as a reminder, better animations and better models. And I've yet to see anything that screams a leap in quality. Sure the game looks pretty, but you can make shit smell good by spraying deodorant, but it's still going to remain a pile of shit. I'm not saying the game is broken to all end, or that it doesn't have any good traits. But the excuse that gamefreak made for removing pokemon is not equivalent at all to the work we can see they put in.

    SEGA Rally championship 2!
    Hard right!
    Jump!
    Hair pin Left!
    Warning narrow bridge!
    Hair pin right!
Anyone else getting Sega Rally vibes from that music?
Take the audio and place it over Sega Rally 2 with the music off, it totally fits.
It even has tire screeching sounds in the music as if going for a racing asthetic.
Now all I can think about is Sega Rally with pokemon fights from car to car in the middle of muddy drifting or even just pokemon running and sliding around.
I need a Sega Rally level, Sumo Digital made Pokemon racer now.
Funny though the music is really speedy and rally fitting but the battles are still slow turns and animations representing physical attacks that don't actually happen. (didn't the Wii game have physical attack animations?)

Overall I like the zigzagoon look but that "Team Yell" just looks incredibly lame.
Couldn't have "Team Poke Punks" I guess cause they already did gang members in Sun/Moon.
Quality reminds me a lot of Diamon/Pearl X/Y so I'm looking forward to seeing how the last Pokemon games on the system will look seeing as Black/White and Sun/Moon where of such higher quality than the ones before it on the same system.
Heck the dynamic battle music in Black/White I still sorely wish were in the future games.

Wonder if they might give very minimal content in this one, I haven't seen much evidence sides the same areas so wouldn't be surprised if its just a few open areas, a few towns and walking back and fourth but maybe that's too harsh. I'm sure they'll have to at least have some proper end game content unlike Let's Go games.

Ummm, is that it? That's pretty much my reaction at the end of the video. I was coming in with low expectations, and I still felt disappointed.
