I just got it a few hours ago... been playing nonstop ever since.

I bought mine from leetmod.ca, shipping took 1 week (ordered sunday night, shipped monday, got it monday)

After taking it out from the flat envelop, the set up was fast - it took me 3 minutes to log on the computer, download the firmware files on the official DSTT website, upload the downloaded "Back-ups", start up the DS and play.

the included microSD-USB-reading device is quite small and cute, but it fits very snuggly with my computer. also the microSD fits extremely tight on the reader.

The included microSD from leetmod.ca did not include an SD adaptor. this implies that I need to use the included microSD-USB-reading device.

I've read that there were a lot of defects regarding the product. some say there's a return rate of 25%. The QC just isn't there.
Before I actually had my hands on it and played it on my DS, I was quite concerned about this. I recommend asking the place you are buying from to verify that it works before sending it out. I didn't know about the high rate of defects until the product was shipped. Luckily I got a perfectly working one [IMG]

there are people who claim that there are issues with the "spring" of the microSD slot, but it's seems fine for me. I've had a slot 2 supercard and a slot 2 Ez-Flash IV, both were not spring loaded. I feel very lucky because I don't need to drag and pull my microSD card out... and filing my nails in the process.

As for the quality of the cart - I haven't really examined it fully. i'm too busy playing XDDD who cares about the quality as long as it goes in and out in one piece. Also, the case of the DS protects it. So I'm not worried about it breaking.

I do however dislike the front-load for the microSD. it's very easy to spot someone playing a back-up device. However, allocating the microSD-slot to the side will make it difficult/inconvenient if you just want a quick upload of a game. Also, taking out and putting in will most wear down the durability of the catridge in the long run.

Overall, I'm glad that mine is perfect in every way. I just plug it in with the appropriate files and firmware, and play.

I'm quite happy with the product. It plays what i want it to, and if I come across a game that I can't play, I know where to get help [IMG]

thanks Gbatemp for the DSTT review which persuaded me to buy this rather than the R4

Spring problems, with any cart, tend to develop, rather than be self-evident straight out of the box.

I believe that leetmod tests the carts before sending them out. I also don't think the number of defective carts is anywhere near 25%. Most of the time someone thinks they have a defective cart it's something else. And of course, we generally hear about the defective ones more than we hear about working ones (satisfied owners are too busy playing games)!

True, not to deny that there are some well documented consistency problems, but minorities are usually the loudest bunch.

I'm glad that the cards works for you man, hope you enjoy it!

wooohooo!!! i think this one of the first "good" comments on the DSTT
rather than contacts or what not
i agree its a pretty nice cart
i dotn mind the GUI being slow cuz i use a 1gb
but its pretty nice GUI such as settings cheats for me that is
and i love touch based GUI's since they use a DS-advantage point

I use a 2GB microSD card, and don't notice the scrolling problem that everyone talks about. It's not perfectly smooth, but it's not particularly slow. You can also click in the scrollbar and it will jump to that location, so even if it was slow I'm not sure how big a deal it would be.

The menu and the games load very quickly. The menu comes up in under a second after the warning screen, and games take 1 to 4 seconds depending on the size of the game and whether it has to create a .sav file the first time you run the game.

The only thing that really bugs me is the lack of sorting in the menu, but even that's not so bad since you can sort your roms in about 20 seconds by making a new folder on the microSD card, selecting all your games that are in the "games" folder and cutting and pasting them to the new folder, then cutting and pasting them back to the "games" folder, then deleting the new folder you created (which should now be empty).

My DSTT has worked fine since I got it exactly 3 months ago from today. Never once had a problem. I got it from dealextreme. My friend's one however does not work consistently. It is sometimes not recognised by the DS and she has to bend it to get it working again. DSTT is a great card though.
