Today I saw on eshop that Pinball FX3 and Stern Pinball Arcade are two newly added free to play games. These games are free to download while supplying extra content in form of DLC. While I don't directly have interest in these games, is good to know they are here and means more can be coming soon, weather it be form of MMORPG or something else (please no smartphone ports) this is good. One game in particular I remember on wii u was Lost Reavers. It was a game I had wanted to try but seem to rapidly lost interest as the wii u grew ever more irrelevant to people. I dunno if the game is worth playing but I hoped it would make its way to the switch just to make it more available.

If there is any current existing free to play games on other platforms you wish to see, I'm curious to know, leave comments below. :)

Pinball FX3 is fantastic. I love Pinball. Downloaded it and picked up the Fox tables cause I love Family Guy. Highly recommend the game to anyone who loves pinball.

Also, at least yesterday, there was a limited DLC that was 100% off, 2 tables for free for a limited time so yeah, might as well grab it everyone.

Oh is this : "get 1 free table buy the rest of the tables game" ?
reminds me of.... mobile gaming
I disagree. I actually think this is a fair business model. I fucking despise the mobile market and I'd rather shoot myself than pay for a bunch of in-game currencies, but I really can't compare this to that.

Like in my case, I was really interested in the Family Guy table, so I paid $10 and got access to the 4 Fox boards, rather than having to shell out full price for a bunch of tables that I'm not really interested in, at least until I've gotten enough of the one I'm focusing on. I can't find it in myself to complain that I wasn't forced to pay for more than I wanted.

True enough, but you dont get the full game, only one table.. feels like a demo

Sure, that's a problem with this threads title more than anything though. It's not like they're marketing it as a free pinball game or anything.
Exact, misleading title. Now it looks like Nintendo is giving free stuff away KEK

How is it misleading? Free to play doesn't mean everything is free, just mean that playing the important part of the game is free and any extras is not required to be free. It is not classified as a demo on the eshop. It is classified as a game that cost nothing to download.

I'm not saying it's a demo but it feels like one. You just get 1 table, to introduce you to the game.

it's nice, and more games should provide a demo before buying.
but this one is more like micro transaction than a demo before buying.
I think it's fine for a pinball game and even the proper way to do it : instead of creating and selling a cloned pinball game full price every year (fifa, I look at you), they add tables and update the game engine if needed.

Well everything must start somewhere. Just give it time. :P

Nintendo switch is the beacon of hope for major breakthrough for nintendo's notorious game publishing practices. This is a good sign of things. Even if it starts off rocky, the road hasn't ended yet. For the first time ever, we have Xenoblade chronicles 2, a game that was published by nintendo to have cursing swearing in dialog, lots of fan service, suggestive themes and nothing has been censored between regions. (Do i have to bring up senran kagura refle and gal gun 2?) THIS is a breakthrough, it's only the beginning next will be free to play games of many different types as well as some other potentially mature content. Who knows, Dead or alive could get a switch release. Just think about the possibilities, the switch is opening doors that nintendo was blocking for years!

This may be a bad idea for first free to play release that seem like a demo but I'm excited just thinking of 2018 and what is to come! BRING IT ON! :creep:

Reminds me of Project DIVA Future Tone's Prelude pack that gave you two free songs to play, and then you paid for two other giant packs of songs (and a few additional ones). So why is that game not on Switch yet?

that's exactly what it is

if you guys are looking for a real FREE pinball experience than try visual pinball X. you can get all the stern tables from stern pinball arcade FREE plus hundreds more practically every table that ever existed from real pinball from the 70-s and onwards. and if your really good you can build something like this

pinball FX and other so called pinball sims Are a waste of space and $ you will end up paying hundreds don't do it. also the physics in pinball FX are trash not even close to as good as VP X

lets see now http://store.steampowered.com/app/442120/Pinball_FX3/

total: $195.77 USD

if it says it's free it really isn't :P

say NO to micro$ :creep:

I believe Nintendo prefers the term "Free to start" expressly to avoid being misleading about this type of game model.
