@Flashme Vs. Passcard 3 - by Kirby102:

Flashme drains the battery faster? WTF? That's the first I've heard of this, and I seriously doubt it's true, given the nature of a firmware.

This thread discussing it? What happened with PMs... Oh well nevermind.

But yeah, it seems to reduce it by 1 hour or so... for my DS. **Assuming if you didn't have original cart

And I also found that other people have/have not been affected by the battery drain:
ImmortalNinja @ SCDev.org said:
Ok did a proper test this time with all the same settings.
And it clocked in at 4hrs 22Mins.
So in summary so far:

All using the same SuperCard MiniSD and the same battery leaving SuperMarioKart (must mean Mario Kart DS)
Full Brightness and max vol through headphones:

UnFLashed DS
Orginal Cart: 5hrs 10Mins
SuperKey in DS Slot: 4hrs 15Mins
SuperKey Removed: 4hrs 22Mins

FLASHED DS
DS Slot Empty: 4hrs 20 Mins
DS Slot with Cart: 4hrs 24 Mins
Using SuperCard Lite: 4hrs 24 Mins

So I conclude that having a flashed ds or superKey makes bugger all difference to battery life during normal play...for my DS.
I'm quite sure it makes a difference to the sleep mode though.
Not sure how I'm going to test that unless the difference is significantly different.....

KK

edit - Not as controlled as I would like, but I guess I could put the DS in sleep mode over night and then see how long the battery lasts coming back to the game in the morning.

I'm no expert but all of those times are similar except for the one using the original DS Cart. Surely this means that it is the Supercard draining the battery life and not the firmware as there is no mention of how the Flashed DS runs with just an original Cart

I'm not flaming you or anything, more info the better for everyone...

I might be guessing that would be the original cart, as the use of a passthrough device is unnecessary anymore. Although his results weren't very specific in categories (it could be game and SCLite in at the same time, we don't know), so I wouldn't be the judge of his times.

GREAT REVIEWS GUYS!

I found the review of the Japanese games very useful. I hope there are more reviews of these wonderful import oportunities. One small suggestion in these reviews would be the inclusion of the 'language-barrier-difficulty' levels of the imports, so we know if the game is playable by Engilsh talking people with ot without major problems.

KEEP THOSE REVIEWS COMING!

(does my review of the review counts as a review? :-)

i wouldn't post the reviews until the competition's over because people can get some ideas from them and use it in some way for their own.
