Earlier this week, Falcom raised its earnings forecast due in part to high demand for the upcoming PSP RPG Legend of Heroes: Ao no Kiseki (details here). Today, we found out just how high the demand is.

A Tweet at the official Falcom Twitter reveals that Falcom has taken over 200,000 retail orders for the game (this means that retailers have ordered 200,000 units, not that people have pre-ordered 200,000 units). Sony apparently sent a congratulatory e-mail about this to Falcom CEO Toshihiro Kondo, who passed along the information to the Falcom staff.

Kondo recently shared a few bits about the new Legend of Heroes game and future Falcom plans in a Dengeki PlayStation interview. See this story for a recap.[/p][IMG] Source

Good that Falcom are doing great, shame that we'll never see this over here unless XSEED are feeling brave.

I'm not sure what that is, but the trailer looks awesome.

Actually, Trails in the Sky is just only TLOH Sora no Kiseki FC... we are still missing: Sora ni Kiseki SC, Sora no Kiseki The Third, Zero no Kiseki and this one (Ao no Kiseki).

and that is why we are never going to see this.

XSEED have got too much to do already with Trails in the Sky (second chapter is two UMDs? IIRC anyway), when they've released the third chapter, the PSP will be long gone.

    One word: Whoa [IMG]

Falcom's RPGs never cease to amaze me. Although I have only played their Ys series so far, I am looking to pick up Trails in the Sky soon and hopefully this game as well when XSEED brings it over.

these kind of graphics could be applicable on the ds but i think ppl are shifting away from the ds to the 3ds which devs are finding it difficult to code for

at least 3ds games should be dumped so that we know which new game has been released

PS - It seems like only the girls in this game were former fighters as only their clothes were ripped and hence trimmed

Well, I liked Trails to the Sky (or whatever it was called) but it was really dull about half-way through the game.

I don't think I would care if this got localized or not.

    First of all, research please.

Falcom develop for the PSP and PC, not the DS or 3DS.
Secondly, it may look like it to you but if you have ever played recent Falcom games, they certainly won't be able to play on the DS

Sad thing about this statement, is that , it may be an under-statement.

This looks like a really cool game. The PSP have lots of good RPG's, sadly 94.57% of them are only released in Japan.

The series is split into 3 parts, with the first 3 that were released in the US by Bandai Namco (Whom I've heard did a hack job on the games and is why the first 3 were terrible) being the second part. The trails series is the 3rd part. Dunno what happened to the games in the first part though.

I agree, I don't think you could play say YS Seven or the new Felghana in the DS, last Ys Ds game was.... YS 1 and YS 2

And it was a pretty mediocre job done by some other company, and not Falcom.

The DS can't get the more recent Falcom games. You'd need like 5 carts or more per game. 3DS? Maybe, but I don't think Falcom likes developing their main games onto Nintendo platforms.
